We're a place where rescued animals live out their lives in dignity and love. Seeking Workshop leaders Meet our Animals:
Harry
Harry the bull was our first rescue, and he was offered to us soon after he was born in December 2020. Harry had a difficult birth and they did not know if he would live. But he pulled through! We could not keep him warm over Winter, so he was raised as a sort of masco
t at the dairy farm, wandering loose in the barn instead of with the veal calves. We adopted him in June 2021. They thought his growth would be stunted, but he is OK! He is wonderful and very happy at Arrowhead Ranch. Harry loves hay and his favorite day is when a new round bale arrives and is rolled out! He also loves to kiss and loves to be scratched or brushed. Stanley
Stanley is the buddy of Harry and we adopted them both together in June of 2021. A male born at a small Bethel dairy farm, Stanley somehow avoided becoming veal. He was instead recruited by a livestock farmer as a breeding bull, but a minor medical issue disqualified him. Stanley is still a baby and turned 1 in January 2022. He and Harry love to play and butt heads. They are funny to watch when they run in a slow rocking motion. They love to sit in their hay and watch the world go by when they are not being petted or fed their grain. Norman
Norman is a mini-mule who came to us in November 2021. Rescued at an auction along with Aura, a female mini-mule, they were previously owned by the Amish. A year later, the new owner's situation changed and was unable to keep them. We were very lucky at the time to have a space available to adopt them. Norman and Aura were both called "feral" by our vet because they have never really been handled or trained. True to mules' reputation, they are stubborn and extra hard to train. Norman is the more difficult and untrusting of the 2. He is only 5 years old and is super strong for his small size. We are still not able to touch him at all, although he loves to eat treats from hands and will walk up and sniff you. We are working every day to create trust and encourage all to follow our progress. We are confident he will be a trusting and well-trained part of our rescue family one day! Nora (formerly Aura)
Nora is a 10 year old female Mini-Mule. We adopted her in November 2021 with her partner in crime Norman! They were previously owned by the Amish and purchased at an auction. We renamed her Nora. Norman and Nora were both called "feral" by our vet because they have never really been handled or trained. Nora is more trusting and easier to handle than Norman. We can brush her and trim her hooves. She loves affection and returns it! We invite you to follow our progress with Nora. Mickey: : Possibly the world's biggest cow, and definitely the world's sweetest! Weighing in at 2000 pounds and standing over 6 ft tall we would like to present this most perfect gentleman! Mickey was a former therapy animal for a man with cancer... he's one of those cuddling cows. Mickey came over from another dude ranch that went out of business I'm June 2022. Sq**rt: A Soft and beautiful Black Angus cow, and also a perfect gentleman Sq**rt is as wide as he is tall. He is super sweet and was hand fed as a baby. he came over with Mickey in June 2022
