Do you have a pet who’s afraid of fireworks? Here are five tips to help them relax on July 4th:
🤍 Give them a calming CBD supplement before the fireworks start.
🤍 Create a safe, cozy space for them away from windows to help block out noise.
🤍 Comfort them with cuddles, soothing words, a favorite toy and treats.
🤍 Walk them before the fireworks start and keep them inside for the rest of the night.
🤍 Use a fan or white noise machine to help mask the sounds of the fireworks.
If your pet needs help overcoming their anxiety, speaking with your vet is always a good idea.

Found a tick on your pet? Don't panic. You can remove it at home with a pair of tweezers in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Spread your pet's fur and grasp the tick with tweezers as close to their skin as possible.
Step 2: Gently pull upward in a slow, steady motion.
Step 3: Drop the tick in isopropyl alcohol and note date of removal.
Step 4: Clean the bite area with a pet-friendly antiseptic and monitor for signs of infection.

In 2022, together we donated over 35,000 meals for cats and dogs in our community, over 2,800 blankets to provide comfort, over 23,000 bears to accompany newly adopted pets home from the shelter and over 100,000 treats to reward dogs waiting to find their forever homes.
