Meet our new program coordinator, Caroline Olson!

Caroline is a naturalist, writer, and long-time resident of Utah. She has formal training in outdoor education, natural history, and science writing. This summer's UMN course offerings will be fewer than in years' past, giving her time to settle in and begin the process of updating UMN's curriculum, to be launched in spring 2026. Her office is located at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter.

Tiny but tough, American pikas are key indicators of climate change in Utah’s mountains. Some populations are declining or have winked out due to warmer summers and reduced snowpack, while others are proving more resilient. Learn more about these tough but adorable survivalists during our virtual talk on Tuesday, April 1st from 6-7 PM. Zoom instructions will be sent once you register at the link below.
