Did you know that as of a few years ago, the Utah Master Naturalist program is housed at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter in Park City? This Friday, November 7th, is Park City’s annual giving event, Live PC Give PC—a day to come together to support the places that add value to our lives. Your commitment to our state’s natural wonders already means so much to Swaner and the UMN program. If you choose to give, it’s an incredible way to help magnify the future impact of our Utah Master Naturalist program.

Swaner brings the wonders of nature alive for all ages! Swaner Preserve permanently protects and provides educational programming on 1,200 acres of open space including trails, an historic farm, valuable wetlands, and hundreds of wildlife and bird species.

We had a wonderful time (and all kinds of weather!) at our Dark Sky Observations field course at Antelope Island State Park! Thanks to all of the students who joined and our wonderful partners and field instructors.

This officially wraps up our 2025 season. We look forward to hosting an expanded lineup of field courses in 2026!

Meet our new program coordinator, Caroline Olson!

Caroline is a naturalist, writer, and long-time resident of Utah. She has formal training in outdoor education, natural history, and science writing. This summer's UMN course offerings will be fewer than in years' past, giving her time to settle in and begin the process of updating UMN's curriculum, to be launched in spring 2026. Her office is located at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter.
