Whether you're a dog lover or not, everyone should know these 5 etiquette rules when around a service dog:

Don't pet them without permission
Don't distract or talk to them while they're working
Give space and don't crowd their handler
Keep your pet dog at a distance
Never assume a disability is visible

Let's clear something up: Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are not the same.
🔹 Service Dogs are trained for specific tasks to help a person with a disability. They're legally protected to accompany their handler in public.
🔹 ESAs provide comfort through presence but are not task-trained or granted the same access rights.
Both are valuable, but only one wears the vest with purpose. Knowing the difference supports true accessibility and respect for working dogs.
