2000s – 2025
With full hearts and tearful eyes, we say goodbye to our beloved Monte, who spent more than 10 unforgettable years as a cherished member of our family. Spunky, cuddly, and everything anyone could hope for in a cat, Monte was a source of constant comfort, joy, and love.
We first met Monte at the Battle Creek, Michigan animal shelter. Out of all the cats, he was by far the meanest — hissing, lashing out, a little ball of fury. But Tyler just knew he was the one. That instinct was confirmed when Monte leapt onto him and refused to let go. It wasn’t exactly a tender start, but it was the beginning of something special.
Once we brought him home, Monte’s rough edges softened quickly. Beneath the bravado was a heart full of love. He became a gentle soul who adored people, often rubbing up against anyone who walked by and headbutting them with affection. He had a way of claiming space and hearts with quiet confidence — a warm presence who made any room feel more like home.
Monte wasn’t just our pet; he was our companion, our comfort, and our friend. Whether curled up in a sunbeam, greeting us with a soft nudge, or quietly watching the world with curious eyes, he reminded us daily what it means to be chosen and loved.
Rest well, sweet Monte. You will always be part of us.
