I swear, I understand fireworks on the actual holiday. Celebrate, have fun, make memories. 🎆

But setting them off all week long and after midnight is a bit much.

Having a dog recovering from IVDD surgery has given me a whole new perspective. Every unexpected boom can send him into a panic, and the last thing he needs right now is to be frightened into digging, jumping, or trying to escape while he's still healing.

And it's not just pets. Fireworks can be incredibly stressful for veterans with PTSD, wildlife, livestock, young children, seniors and people with sensory sensitivities.

I'm not asking anyone to stop celebrating. I'm just asking people to be considerate of those around them. If you're going to light fireworks, please think about the time, the place, and your neighbors.

Beyond fed up with it this year. 😔🐾
