🐶 Meet Cole, a 20-year-old Chihuahua and devoted service dog who recently gave his family quite a scare after accidentally swallowing a rib bone.

🩻 Radiographs confirmed the bone was lodged in his stomach, and due to the risk of obstruction or injury, surgery was recommended.

🏥 Our surgical team carefully removed the bone, and despite his age, Cole handled the procedure like an absolute champion.

🏡 The best part? Cole recovered well and was back home with his family the very next day.

⚠️ This case is an important reminder that cooked bones can be dangerous for dogs of any age. They can become lodged in the stomach or intestines and may require emergency surgery to remove.

💙 We are so happy to report that Cole is back where he belongs, doing what he does best: loving and supporting the veteran who depends on him.

⭐ Way to go, Cole! ⭐

As flowers bloom, so do risks for our pets, with plenty of opportunity for them to breathe in particles, scratch an eye, poke a paw, or even get snagged by a branch or thorn, all of which could potentially lead to infections.

Infections can be sneaky subtle—If your pet is not acting right and you are not sure what it is, get them checked! Like with most conditions, the sooner we treat an infection, the better your pet will feel.

🍔 A burger… made their way 🐾
Today is National Hamburger Day, but your pet doesn’t need the drive-thru version to feel included.

In fact, many classic burger ingredients—like onions, garlic, and heavy seasoning—can upset their stomach (or worse). The good news? You can still treat them—just a little differently. Think:
🥩 Plain, lean protein
🥕 Pet-safe veggies
🚫 No added salt, spices, or toppings

Because the best treats aren’t the ones we share…they’re the ones we choose with them in mind. ❤️
If you’re ever unsure what’s safe, we’re always here to help!
