Another Chance Animal Welfare League Our efforts are all inspired by Abby a shelter dog who deserved another chance and didn't get one.

Another Chance Animal Welfare League is a non-profit organization designed to protect animals from abuse and neglect. Knowing that in order to do so, we are intent on reducing the population of unwanted animals with a spay and neuter program offering vouchers when available to the local community, and adopting out only spayed and neutered pets. Education to the community is certainly a priority to ACAWL and used in many instances.

Meet little star ⭐️

She is our newest resident at Acawl. Our amazing President Phyllis has been working very hard to bottle feed and give this sweet girl a chance at life!  She is not currently up for adoption, but we look forward to watching her thrive and being available in the future.

🚨 Important Donation Notice 🚨

We have confirmed through our security cameras that our former store manager, Shannon, has been removing donations left outside our thrift store after hours. Shannon is no longer affiliated with or part of our organization in any capacity.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the situation and is doing everything they can to assist us.

To help protect your donations, please only donate during our posted hours:

Please do not leave donations outside after hours. Every donation helps the animals in our care. 🐾❤️

We are incredibly grateful for the generous donations that help support Another Chance Animal Welfare League and the animals in our care.

To ensure your donations make it to us, please drop them off during our donation hours:
Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Unfortunately, donations left behind the thrift store after hours have been taken before we are able to bring them inside. We don’t want your generosity to go to waste.

🐾 Our Sanctuary Is Currently Full 🐾

At this time, our sanctuary is at full capacity and are unable to accept any additional cats.

This is never an easy decision. We know many cats in our community need help, and it breaks our hearts to say no. However, we have a responsibility to ensure every cat already in our care receives the time, medical attention, and resources they deserve.

If you need to rehome a cat, we encourage you to network through friends, family, and community groups while also reaching out to other local rescues and shelters to see if they have availability.

We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support. Every donation, adoption, foster home, volunteer, and share helps us move cats into loving homes and create space to save more lives in the future.

Meet Mabel & Ghia 💕
These two beautiful sisters were born on August 12, 2021, as part of a litter of 11 kittens. They were the last two to be adopted and have always shared a special bond with one another.

Mabel and Ghia are gentle, shy girls who will need a patient adopter willing to give them time to settle into their new surroundings. They currently live with a few resident cats and an older resident dog. They prefer to observe from a safe distance at first and gradually build trust at their own pace.
While in foster care, they have done wonderfully with their litter box habits. They enjoy Science Diet dry food, canned cat food, and are especially motivated by treats. Once comfortable, they will happily join you on the couch and enjoy your company. They are not particularly fond of being picked up or held, but they appreciate a peaceful home where they can relax and be themselves.
Their favorite activities include lounging, using scratching posts, and scratching on sisal mats. All three have begun exploring kitty toys and are finding out that the feather teasers are fun!
✨ Mabel is a stunning lynx point with blue eyes and a slight darkening of fur near one eye.
✨ Ghia is a lynx point with large blue eyes and an adorable brown patch over her nose.
Both girls are spayed and ready to find a patient, loving home where they can stay together and continue the close bond they have shared their entire lives.
If you're looking for two quiet companions who simply need a little time and understanding, Mabel and Ghia may be the perfect addition to your family.
