It all began with an email from a concerned individual in Nevada, seeking help for a precious kitten who had endured unimaginable abuse, resulting in severe injuries that left her unable to walk. We sprang into action, driven by our passion to make a difference. This rescue mission was filled with unexpected twists and turns.
The kitten's heartbreaking story alleged appalling abuse, causing grave injuries. Following numerous phone calls and strategic planning, we established contact, Thursday evening with the individual who had the kitten.
By 8 AM Friday morning, the kitten was safely in our care, receiving temporary medical foster care. Here's where the story takes an intriguing turn. We know that a permanent home awaited this little ball of fur in Las Vegas. However, before embarking on her journey, we needed to uncover the extent of her medical needs. We were determined to unravel the mysteries surrounding her condition.
A preliminary assessment revealed that the kitten required immediate medical attention, exhibiting distressing behavior beyond the paralysis of her rear legs. Fortunately, Another Chance Animal Welfare League offered us an appointment, providing us with a glimmer of hope.
With guarded optimism, we embarked on this critical journey. The medical examination revealed that the kitten needed hospitalization due to a low body temperature. She struggled to regulate her temperature, necessitating an incubator and supportive care to stabilize her condition. Further diagnostic tests were ordered, and we anxiously awaited the results.
By late Friday afternoon, we received an update on her condition, indicating that she continued to face challenges maintaining her body temperature. The possibility of underlying neurological issues was discussed, leaving us with a sense of great concern.
As we look to the future, we remaine positive and hopeful for a favorable report coming soon.
We are aware that the kitten's medical bill will be substantial, and we are counting on donations to help cover her medical expenses 🙏.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of Another Chance Animal Welfare league. If you would like to contribute to Lenore's medical bill, please contact their store between 10 AM and 3 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, at 530-547-7387 or visit their store at 9384 Deschutes Road, Palo Cedro.
