The Zoo is home to more than 50 species of animals—about 200 specimens in all—many of which are brought into classrooms as part of the Junior Museum & Zoo's science outreach program with local schools. We offer a menagerie of science programs for schools and community groups, as well as classes, summer camps, and birthday parties for families.

Zookeeper Lee took the flamingo flock down memory lane, making sure to remind Ruby and Sal of their beautiful creations (Rio and the new chick). As you can see, it was a real page-turner! 📖

Clearly the flamingos love a good storytime, so it’s only fair we hold one in honor of their growing flock! Don’t miss the special storytime at 2 PM tomorrow honoring our newest chick. The Palo Alto City Library has hand-picked a fantastic, flamingo-themed book for the occasion! 🦩💕

This event is free with JMZ admission or member reservation. Find us by the Cichlid Lake at 2 PM tomorrow, Friday, August 28th at the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo. Check out the link in our bio for more info!

JMZ Family Programs include “parent and me” preschool classes and after-school programs for school-aged kids, with hands-on science, animal discovery, tinkering, and more.

Resident registration is now open!! Non-resident registration opens August 27 at 10 a.m.
