Tips for Growing Cabbage

1. Choose a sunny location: Cabbage needs full sun to partial shade to grow well.
2. Soil preparation: Cabbage prefers well-draining, fertile soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0.
3. Sow seeds correctly: Sow seeds 1-2 inches deep and 2-3 inches apart.
4. Keep the soil moist: Cabbage needs consistent moisture, especially when forming heads.

Common Challenges
1. Pests: Watch out for pests like aphids, cabbage loopers, and cabbage worms.
2. Diseases: Keep an eye out for diseases like club root, downy mildew, and black rot.
3. Weather: Cabbage is sensitive to extreme weather conditions, such as high temperatures, drought, or excessive rain.

Check for maturity: Cabbage is ready to harvest when the heads are firm and compact

Good evening Kenyans!
Before you say "Wantam!" come, let’s talk serious agribusiness.
Have you been calling me looking for land near water, road, electricity basically somewhere you can farm stress-free? Well, this is your golden chance.
My neighbor, a teacher, has just been transferred and is now leasing out his home in Mwea, Kirinyaga. Here’s what you get:
½ acre of fertile land
A 3-bedroom house ready for you to move in
Water and electricity already available
Just 30 metres from a water canal ,ideal for irrigation.
A clean, secure environment with a friendly farming community
And the best part?
I'm your neighbor.
Yes, the tree behind that house is actually in my compound, that's an added advantage since I over produce fermented goat milk and organic brew and also wisdom 😁.
All that for just Ksh 7,000 per month.
Come grow your dreams where farming is thriving.
Call me. Let’s make it happen!
Be a village investor !.

🟩⚪ONION FARMING TIPS 🧅
Red onions thrive best in moderate temperatures between 13°C and 24°C and well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5. Proper soil preparation and management are essential for healthy growth and high yields.
🟣Land Preparation:
Choose well-drained land with adequate sunlight. Clear debris and loosen the soil to promote strong root development.
🔴Planting:
Space rows 12–18 inches apart and plants 4–6 inches apart.
Use quality seeds or sets, planting them with the pointed end facing up.
Sow seeds about 1 cm deep or transplant seedlings when they are pencil-thick (6–8 weeks old).
⚫Watering and Fertilization:
Maintain consistent moisture without overwatering to avoid root rot. Apply balanced fertilizers and organic matter at planting and during growth to ensure nutrient availability.
🔵Weed and Pest Management:
Control weeds early and regularly to reduce competition. Protect crops from pests like onion flies and thrips using crop rotation, sanitation, and appropriate controls.
🟢Additional Tips:
Mulching helps retain moisture and suppress weeds. Regular soil testing can guide fertilization and improve yields.
