💙 Meet Toby! 💙

Toby continues to impress us with his determination and positive attitude. During yesterday's hydrotherapy session, we saw more movement, more strength, and increased sensation in his hind limbs. We even got a hind limb kick—a small milestone that felt like a big victory! 🎉

One thing we love about Toby is that he never lets his mobility challenges define him. Whether he's working hard in the underwater treadmill, cruising around with his wheelchair from , splashing on the sun shelf, or handing out kisses, Toby approaches life with enthusiasm and joy.

We've also noticed that he moves more freely in the water without his diaper, and yesterday's session really highlighted how much progress he's making. Every dog progresses at their own pace, but Toby continues to show us what's possible with determination, consistency, and a family that supports him every step of the way.

Keep up the great work, Toby! We can't wait to see what milestone comes next. 🐾💙

When Ralphie first came to Barkingham over 2 years ago, he was completely paralyzed. His family had been told there was little hope and that it might be time to say goodbye — but they refused to give up on their boy.

Instead, they brought him to Miss Wendy for hydrotherapy.

And after just ONE session in the warm warm water… Ralphie did something incredible. He got up and walked out of the pool on his own.

Hydrotherapy can be truly life-changing for dogs struggling with paralysis, weakness, pain, or mobility issues. The buoyancy of the water supports the body while allowing dogs to move safely, build strength, and regain confidence in ways they often can’t on land.

Today, over 2.5 years later, Ralphie is still thriving and continues coming to Barkingham Pet Hotel weekly for his hydrotherapy sessions to help keep him strong, mobile, and happy.

Gordo’s journey has been incredible to watch. Nearly a year ago, he came to hydrotherapy completely paralyzed, and session by session he has continued making progress and gaining strength. The warm water supports his body, eases stress on his joints, improves circulation, and helps him move more comfortably than he can on land.

In the beginning, Gordo relied on a flotation device just to stay supported in the water. Over time, he started pushing himself up more independently and growing stronger and more confident with each visit. Today, he does wonderfully during his hydrotherapy sessions and uses his wheelchair for extra mobility support when needed.

It’s suspected that Archie lost his right hind leg after being hit by a car. A Good Samaritan brought him to Coachella Valley Animal Campus, where he was later rescued by Desert Paws Sanctuary because of his special situation. You would never know this sweet boy only has three legs — he gets around so incredibly well!

Archie did fantastic in the underwater treadmill today. Hydrotherapy helps keep his muscles strong while reducing stress on his joints, and the warm water helps improve circulation, flexibility, and comfort. He enjoyed some relaxing massage therapy and was accompanied by his mom and his Amstaff brother, Asher who also rescued by Desert Paws Sanctuary, he enjoyed some therapy himself.
