☀️ Summer BBQs, picnics, and pool days mean more tempting foods around your pup—but not everything on your plate is safe to share. 🐶🚫
Keep these foods out of reach:
🌽 Corn on the cob – The cob can cause a life-threatening intestinal blockage.
🍇 Grapes – Even a small amount can lead to kidney failure.
🧅 Onions – Toxic to dogs and can damage red blood cells.
🥑 Avocado – The pit is a choking hazard, and the fruit is high in fat, which may cause stomach upset or pancreatitis.
🍺 Alcohol – Even small amounts can be dangerous.
🍦 Ice cream – Many dogs are lactose intolerant, and some products contain xylitol, which is highly toxic.
🌭 Hot dogs – High in fat and sodium, and seasonings may contain onion or garlic.
🍗 Cooked chicken bones – They can splinter and injure the mouth, stomach, or intestines.
🍢 Skewers – Wooden skewers can cause choking or puncture the digestive tract if swallowed.
💙 If your dog eats any of these foods, don't wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your primary care veterinarian, a veterinary urgent care, or an emergency veterinary hospital right away if your pet's condition worsens or you have any concerns.
