Meet Ruby! She’s a 10-year-old domestic shorthair cat and a beloved patient at VUCD. Ruby’s journey through cancer treatment has been a story of resilience and unwavering support from her family and veterinary team. Diagnosed with mammary cancer in February 2024, Ruby underwent multiple successful surgeries, including a lumpectomy and bilateral mammary chain removals performed by Dr. Bausman at VUCD. Despite initial challenges, Ruby adapted gracefully and found solace in familiar comforts post-surgery. Recent consultations have confirmed Ruby’s excellent progress, with no signs of cancer recurrence and a promising outlook for a full recovery, bringing immense relief and gratitude to her family. The compassionate care provided by Dr. Bausman and the veterinary team at VUCD has played a crucial role in Ruby’s journey, ensuring she receives the best possible care for a healthy and vibrant future.
