Every morning Ranger does the teddy bear presentation. I love it. ❤️ But I hate the increasing gray on his precious face. 🥺

Whenever I meet a dog, I let them set the pace. I’m not above special treats (like Tri-tip) when their owners say it’s okay. But my favorite is when I meet one who is a little “meh” toward me. It’s a challenge to figure out what their “okay! She’s cool” button is.

Lola has been somewhat aloof - but this morning she brought me this disgusting, stinky, gnawed-on-what’s-left-of-a-cow toy and laid it by my foot. Then she waited. I knew it was a test.

As soon as I reached for it she flew in and grabbed it and shook and slammed it violently. Then, back by my foot. Ah ha! A little rough-houser!!! (My favorite!)

Today has been a full day of her training me on the finer points of tug-of-war, fetch, and chasing each other through the house. I think I’m coming along quite nicely. She asked to come sleep with me tonight. I’m not sure if it’s the nasty weather or she likes me or she wants to continue my training in the morning as early as possible.

It’s most likely some combination of all three. And, I’m totally cool with it.
