SWEETIE IS BACK! As much as we love her, we would love for her to find a forever home even more. 🐕

Sweetie was adopted soon after we shared her video, but it just wasn't the right match and she was returned a few days later through no fault of her own. She is sweet and gentle, but at 67 pounds she is strong and needs a strong companion. 💪

She is currently with one of our wonderful fosters, but has shut down somewhat due to all the moves. 💔

When she's feeling comfortable, she'll follow you room to room modeling her costumes. 😍

Sweetie is almost 7 years old and her adoption fee is waived as part of our "Name Your Price" special. ✨

📣UPDATE: Border Collie hoarding case

All 36 Border Collies have officially been surrendered to our care! 🎉🙌

This important step allows our team to begin comprehensive medical evaluations, vaccinations, microchipping, spaying/neutering and adoption planning. 🐶

Our goal is to ensure that every dog is healthy, supported and matched with the right forever home when the time comes. ❤️

Adoption and rescue applications will become available beginning September 1st at www.hstc1.org and on our page.

To help us keep our phone lines available for urgent shelter needs, we kindly ask that you do not call about the Border Collies.

Medical costs will be significant and we appreciate everyone’s continued support! Donations go toward all of the animals in our shelter needing medical care. 🙏

Thank you for standing with us as we give these dogs the fresh start they deserve.

🎤 Bunfest DATE CHANGE:

To make space for the amount of animals the shelter has received over the last few weeks, our upcoming Bunfest Clean & Preen Day is shifting to SUNDAY, AUGUST 30TH. It will now be held in the Jane & Shirley Wurz Training Center, located behind the main shelter building.

An email notification has been sent to all current attendees and we are still accepting new registrations.

🐰 The date and building are changing, but the time slots and high-quality grooming remain the same.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

💙 We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity our community has shown during this rescue effort. From donations for the animals to meals for our staff, your support has kept us going during an incredibly busy time. THANK YOU!

As we continue caring for these dogs, the most impactful way to help is through a monetary donation. The money goes out just as quickly as it comes in, and financial gifts allow us to direct critical resources exactly where they're needed most as the situation evolves.

We are currently limited on storage space at the shelter and kindly ask that any tangible donations be dropped of at either of our thrift store locations. Items will be transported to the shelter as needed.

Thank you for standing with us and helping give these dogs the care and second chance they deserve. 🐾❤️

It’s Satur-YAY! We just finished grooming all of the Border Collies and the transformation is more than physical – it’s emotional. 😍 (Please note we use light sedation for the process.)

We’re seeing signs of joy and healing as the weight is literally lifted off their shoulders.

We’re so proud of their bravery and resilience and are loving every moment watching them learn how to be dogs again. 🐾

Thank you for your support as you follow their journey! 🐶

📣 UPDATE: Border Collie Hoarding Case

We experienced a breakthrough today with a lot of the dogs coming out of their shells and being playful! 🐶❤️

Since the filming of this video we have now groomed 20 dogs, but there is still a long road ahead until they’re ready for adoption. 🐾

We so appreciate everyone’s support and patience as we get through this. We are inundated with calls and emails and are answering them as time allows, and are processing donation receipts as quickly as possible. 🙏

Our most pressing need continues to be monetary donations.

We’re also running a “Name Your Price” adoption special for the so many other precious animals that have been patiently waiting for a forever home. 🐕🐈🐇

We’re so grateful for not only the donations we’ve received so far, but the many generous offers to help groom these precious dogs. 🐾

Because it’s an ongoing investigation, we are currently handling the medical grooming in house. But there will come a time, in the near future, where we will once again lean on our amazing community’s help. ❤️

Our shelter has taken in the border collies rescued by the Martin County Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit, and we are providing them with medical attention, nourishment, and grooming as we assess the path forward. 🐕🐾

These innocent dogs were inhumanely kept in deplorable conditions, and while they are finally safe, their journey to recovery is just beginning. 💔

We will provide updates as we can, but right now our focus is on the well-being of these dogs, and we appreciate the public's patience while we navigate this complex situation.

We've witnessed how deeply our community cares about animals and are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support these past few weeks. We're asking again for your help as the financial burden of caring for these neglected dogs comes at a time when our shelter was already facing immense challenges. 🙏

Please consider making a donation today. No gift is too small, and every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can give these dogs the second chance they deserve.

We did it! Thanks to a generous grant from Florida Animal Friend, we've successfully spayed and neutered over 500 community cats through our Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (T.N.V.R.) program this past year! 🐱🐾

Every Florida Animal Friend license plate sold helps fund programs like ours. Thank you, Florida Animal Friend, for making a difference! 👏
