More Show fun from this weekend!

The Summerwood team headed down to Palm Beach Posse this Saturday with our amazing Meg Michaels for some proper Dressage!

Congrats to Tess, Virginia and Amy for a fabulously successful day in the ribbons.

Everyone showed great progress in their riding and Titan, George and Winter were such professionals!!

Meet our Trainers!

Erin Jewett - Dressage/Hunt Seat/Rehabilitation

Erin teaches novice through experienced riders from all age groups and disciplines with any type of horse. Everyone can benefit from her unique skill set in flatwork and bio-mechanics.

Through the years Erin has worked with many different breeds within a variety of disciplines and has produced impressive results in even the most chronically lame horses. Horses suffering from ailments such as kissing spine, ECVM, tendon/ligament injury, and navicular syndrome have found relief within her program.

Erin helps riders to better understand their horse’s unique movement patterns and the role they play in the rehabilitation work needed for their horse. She teaches riders how, through awareness and better equitation, they can create soundness

Juan Larrazabal - Show Jumping

Juan Andrés Larrazabal is a Grand Prix show jumper based in Wellington, FL. Juan came to the US from Venezuela in 2008 in pursuit of making a name for himself in the equestrian world and has done just that!

Juan has ridden through the top of the show jumping sport and has represented Venezuela on multiple international teams and operates a thriving business of competition and coaching

Juan has previously evented up to three star and loves working with our eventing team as well as our riders working on their jumping skills for fun at home!

Juan teaches show jumping or cross country jumping lessons on Saturdays at Summerwood. Contact us for rates and schedule availability!

Meet our trainers!!

Meghan Michaels - Dressage

Meghan Michaels is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist dressage trainer based out of Summerwood Stables in Palm City, FL.

Originally from New Hampshire, Meghan began riding at the age of 4 and went on to compete on the Arabian circuit, winning multiple championships across multiple disciplines. She went on to attend the University of New Hampshire earning a degree in Equine Animal Science, and in 2001 was accepted into the International Academy for Equestrian Studies in Warendorf Germany.

After her time in Germany, Meghan apprenticed under several Olympians and Olympic trainers, such as Karl Mikolka and Alex Chertba. This brought her to Maryland for 16 years where she managed her own successful dressage training and sales operation, bringing her down to Wellington, FL each winter to compete for the season.

Meghan achieved her Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals on self-produced mounts, and currently imports high-end dressage horses from Germany to continue developing, compete, and sell as she takes great pride in finding the perfect match for her sales horses and developing horses and riders in a safe and fun environment.

With over 25 years of teaching, Meghan enjoys helping riders to develop trust and form a true partnership with their horses. She understands that true harmony requires a balanced and independent seat, focusing on the rider's core.

Meghan has a positive, kind, and most of all a fun training approach for both horse and rider, accommodating all levels and breeds.

She loves to help her students reach their goals, with many achieving their USDF medals and several placings in USDF Championships over the years.
