A lot of our new clients find switching to raw food kind of daunting. While it’s true that it can require a bit more work than feeding your dog kibble, it doesn’t have to be complicated. There are several ways to section and store your dog’s food for easy use later. Remember, using a kitchen scale to weigh each portion which will ensure your dog is getting fed the proper amount every time. Here are a few methods that you can try!

1. Defrost several rolls in a container in your refrigerator. Remove once fully soft, Section out each portion, and then place in a ziplock freezer bag or tupperware container and refreeze.
2. Place several rolls into a cooler to defrost, but pull them out while they are still frozen enough that they feel “crunchy”. Chop on a cutting board with a large knife and place in either freezer ziplock bags or tupperware and refreeze.
3. Set a roll inside a container in the refrigerator to defrost. Once soft, remove from the plastic sleeve, and then section into portions inside the container for use. Either refreeze the entire container or (if your dog eats enough in a day) keep in the refrigerator until gone.
4. No kitchen scale? You can try this instead! Titan rolls are at least 5lbs each. If you section a roll into 5 equal portions then you can be confident that each segment is about 1lb. If you divide a section into 4 parts then each part is about 1/4lb. Using this method you can get close enough to what your dog should be eating that slight variations in quantity will balance over time so that your dog is getting the proper nutrition they need.

If you have a creative way to do food prep please send it in and we'll include it in a future update! We recommend making sure you only keep food in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. If you have food leftover after 3-4 days we suggest either throwing it out or boiling it for 5-minutes prior to feeding. Make sure it's cool before giving it to your dog. Be advised, while boiling the food allows you to feed it safely it'll make your kitchen smell! If you have any questions please get in touch, we’d be happy to answer them.

We’ve created an option that lets you add treats onto a food order! You can select a maximum of 3 bags of Add-On Treats per box of food without additional shipping costs. Each bag of treats contains 5oz of all natural, dehydrated raw meat. They’ll be packed right in your food order box so you’ll get everything you ordered at the same time. You can select Tripe Nuggets, Titan Blue Jerky, Titan Red Jerky, Training Treats, or Turkey Jerky. To add treats just follow these steps:

Step 1: Add the food boxes you'd like to purchase to your cart.
Step 2: Find and select the “Add-On Treats” product.
Step 3: Select the “Quantity” of treat bags you’d like to purchase and add to cart.
Step 4: Navigate to the “Cart” page and tell us how many bags of which treats you'd like in the "Notes for Custom Boxes" section.
Step 5: Checkout!

If you have multiple boxes in your food order and would like more than 3 bags of treats just add another “Add-On Treats” to your cart. Each bag of our nutritious treats costs just $10. If we don’t have the treats you requested already made we’ll contact you and ask if you’d like to substitute. If you’d rather wait for us to make your treats it could add an additional 48hrs before we're able to ship your order.

Pete’s Meats offers a wide variety of dehydrated treats for your dog. We use our supply of nutritious dog food to create a product that is free of fillers, preservatives, and colorings so you know your dog is getting a quality product. Dog’s love our Titan Blue strips and Tripe nuggets, which are popular sellers, but we make treats out of our other products too! All bags are 5oz for $10.

If you’re a pick-up customer, don’t feel like you’re limited to the treats available at the time of your food pick-up. You can call 2 days ahead and request treats.
