We are looking for skilled dog handlers. To monitor and maintain the safety and well being of all dogs present at the DogSmith Ranch in Palm Beach Gardens. Technicians are responsible for the animals’ physical, mental, nutritional and environmental wellbeing. Technicians must ensure that the Ranch is run in compliance with all operational manuals and local county and state requirements. All employees must operate at all times in line with our company Vision, Mission and Values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Meet, greet and receive all guests according to the operational standards
2. Each day before daycare starts (8am) ensure all crates, and public areas are cleaned, Vacuumed, mopped, sanitized and treated with odor eliminator if needed.
3. Conduct an initial flea, tick and wound scan when the pet first arrives and make any important notes on the pets K9 Care notes.
4. Secure all dogs supplies on arrival in the correct location
5. Maintain accurate records of all belongings
6. Place each arriving guest in the designated area after ensuring a quick potty break.
7. Execute the am/pm shift check list.
8. Tend to dogs service needs (baths, brush, teeth clean, walks, basic training, nail clips etc)
9. Feed dogs according to the individual dogs feeding guidelines.
10. Administer medication based on the information and documents gathered from the clients complete the medication flow sheet for each medication administered.
11. Update K9 Care software with doggie information, toilet habits, food and any noticeable personality information.
12. During the course of the day spot check crates, rooms and public areas to ensure they all stay clean and tidy.
13. Take note of inventory levels of in-house (LA dog food) and supplies including Clover paper to prevent emergency purchasing.
14. Be aware of all Ranch emergency procedures.
15. Carry your phone at all times be available on Zello Work.
16. Maintain closed doors between animals and the outside at all times when dogs are being moved around.
17. Secure all crate doors
18. Enter and leave rooms carefully with dogs placed on leads.
19. Ensure Dog Daycare schedules are adhered to in terms of play time, break time and nap time
20. Within 30 days of employment all “Pet Care Technicians” will be trained and certified on Company Induction, Employee Handbook, Animal Handling Skills, Pet First Aid, Canine Communication, K9 care software, all DogSmith Services & DogSmith Dog Training Services.
21. Follow all safety protocols in terms of animal safety, chemical safety, people safety.
