Sam Simon, co-creator of The Simpsons, used his immense success to make a lasting impact beyond television. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2012, he chose to give away his $100 million fortune to causes close to his heart. A passionate animal lover, Simon focused much of his philanthropy on animal welfare, creating the Sam Simon Foundation, which provides free veterinary care, rescues animals from shelters, and trains service dogs to assist people with disabilities or PTSD.

His generosity didn’t stop there, Simon also supported food banks, helped feed the hungry, and funded efforts to end animal cruelty in circuses and labs. Despite his illness, he stayed actively involved in these causes until his passing in 2015. Sam Simon’s legacy lives on, not just in the laughs he brought through The Simpsons, but in the lives he saved and improved through compassion and action.

Covering it with paint blocks its ability to absorb sunlight, essential for its metabolism and bone development. It also prevents it from naturally eliminating bacteria and fungi. Many die slowly from infections or poisoning. It's not art. It's suffering. And often, a torture that ends in silence.
