When our pups come to us, they are moving in for a while. Our aim is not to adopt our lots of highly adoptable animals as quckly as possible. P.O.

We are a nonprofit animal rescue organization that finds animals that have been given up on or considered hopeless and unadoptable by other rescue organizations. Most of the animals at Fly Away Home have come from nightmarish circumstances. They have been abandoned, neglected, or severely abused. They are provided with extensive medical and behavioral rehabilitation. Thus far, every animal that has found us, has also found a wonderful home after graduating. Every one of them has gone on to become loving family members and loyal companions. They are a testament to the enduring spirit and undying goodness of animals. Jeter's Breakthrough last night with a little help from his friends♥️🥰

This looks so hopeful & we're hopeful because it was so encouraging to see him having a good time & being responsive to the other dogs. However, as soon as we tried to leash up & walk to the gate, it started again in full force (that's also why we need to help em up harness) & continued throughout the night. This morning, when he woke up, he immediately started circling, & we immediately took him out & tried to run with him to redirect him out of the circling.

We're going to continue taking him to the park.
Whatever it is, we believe in Neuroplasticity & and believe the brain can rewire itself with enough rest, repetition, and practice. We will post how he was this morning when we tried to redirect to circling. We're so grateful for all the input, suggestions, prayers & concerns. It's truly helping us get through this with our sweet little pup, Jeter.

Our sweet puppy is not having fun😢 He can't stop himself! This is a heartbreaking case BUT once we calm him down & sit with him, he's gentle & loving & so peaceful😘

Starting on Prozac Tuesday. So far none of the neurologists have "seen this before" & have not found a diagnosis, forget about treatment! Although he's had every diagnostic on the market & we're not short on medications that have been tried. I mean he's not an alien just landing here from some planet with mysterious dog diseases‼️

BUT he's a good baby, he deserves us to find out what's hurting him & make him feel better. He knows he's not alone, we're going through this with him. That counts a lot. That's why he's so peaceful & trusting when we sit quietly with him & tell him he's gonna be ok, & he'll never be alone again♥️

This is a pup begging for help😢

We've heard the "quality of life" speech, we've had every neurological diagnostic known to veterinary medicine, he's on a cocktail of medications. We're not ready to give up. We don't think he is either because when one of our smallest dogs approaches him, he calms down he's responsive and he seems to be at peace, begging for help not begging for us to end his life.

We've had him to every neurologist at one hospital, & now we're seeing Dr. Glass at Red Bank. There has got to be an answer.

He had seizures which have been controlled with medication. He seems to be deaf. But the main thing is, he can't control his body. He spins uncontrollably constantly & he can't stop. Also trying to stop him requires full body restraint. He doesn't fight you. He just lets you hold him tight & then he feels better. It's heartbreaking to watch. He needs constant supervision. But when he's lying down and the other dog is next to him, he seems so content.

Has anybody seen this before? It's not CH and it's not seizure activity but somewhere in the veterinary medical profession somebody has had to have seen this.

We're not giving up without finding an answer. We would take him to Animal, Medical Center, but we believe Dr Glass is one of the best.

This pup is young, as gentle as a lamb, & otherwise completely healthy. He has a healthy appetite, & even in his most frantic spinning when we hold him tight to stabilize him, he has shown ZERO aggression.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, have you seen this before? We'll take videos tomorrow but they can be upsetting💔

Our sweet baby can't get a break😢

Jeter is one of the most complicated & involved medical pups we've had in a long time & he's still a baby. The unthinkable option at this point because he's back in the hospital has been suggested but he's still fighting & we're taking our cues from him.

His medical bills are beyond outrageous. But there's still so much hope🙏🏼

So it's only money (yeah, we wish) but it's also reality. Some foliks might say 20k to save a sick little pup is insane. Well those aren't our people.

Please be one of little Jeter's people & help us save him. If this was truly his end & he was suffering without hope, sadly we would have to say goodbye. But nobody on his medical team feels that way. You should see how happy & playful he is in between episodes & we can't take his whole life away from him if there's a way out💙

OMG Where are all our loving foster families!

This gentlr, sweet pup will die for a very treatable illness. All we need to save his beautiful life is one amazing human to step up for him🙏🏼💙

So for we're taking a nostalgic journey with another pup, Meredith, who had lived at the shelter for 3 years, also 6 years ago & was breaking my heart watching her slowly deteriorate in her kennel. Every time I passed by, she got up & put her nose to the gate as if she was counting on me to save her.

She had a little altercation with another dog that was really not her fault, but condemned her in the public's eye to be a bad risk😢

But I knew in my heart, she was perfect♥️ & and she deserved the chance after sitting in at Barron kennel alone for 3 years.

We've kept up with her family as we usually do over the years. She was with us for a long time before finally being placed with her long-term fosters becoming her. forever family.

We do not give up on our pups. . . So here in pictures is Meredith's long journey home🥰

This is a pup who is trying so very hard to trust💙.

What a wonderful feeling to be the one he finally feels safe enough to open up to!

He wants to have a friend so badly, he yearns to have someone to love him & tell him he's a good puppy, & he's theirs forever & ever.

& that's all while surviving alone out in the open on the streets with nobody to care or show him kindness.

Because it's his true nature to be gentle & loving & trusting, & belong to someone We need to give him the chance to blossom into the beautiful, devoted family companion he was meant to be🌻
