Desert Haven Animal Society is an open-admission, no-kill animal shelter located 60 miles west of Las Vegas in Pahrump, Nevada. After the only public animal shelter in Pahrump closed its doors during the summer of 2015, DHAS stepped in to reopen a very necessary public asset as a safe haven for lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals in Nye County. DHAS is a registered nonprofit 501(c)3 organizat

ion. DHAS strives to reduce the homeless pet population in Pahrump and surrounding areas by reuniting lost pets with their owners and by finding loving homes for all adoptable stray or surrendered pets. We also seek to increase awareness on the epidemic of pet overpopulation and to promote responsible pet ownership and care.

Our sweet angel girl "Elfie" is ready for her FUR-EVER home! Elfie came to us with a bad injury on her nose. Our team was able to care for her wounds, and she is now doing great. She is a smaller red-heeler mix and she loves to cuddle and play. Come meet her!

Today has been a busy day, full of emotion. THANK YOU to each and every person who helped get the 60 animals out today! Our community ROCKS! Desert Haven Animal Society has been blessed to be apart of this community. We are truly saddened to be leaving the animals that are still there...
I would like to give a shout out to my amazing Staff! They have been amazing to work with, thank you to the Volunteers...Gloria, Sue H., Susan, Nancy, Rayna... and many more that have been there to help us along the way...
Thank you to Black Wolf K9 for helping train our furkids to make them more adoptable!!
Thank you to Never Forgotten, Tails of Nye County, PAWS, A Home 4 Spot, Hearts Alive, ASPCA... you have all been amazing help to us and the animals!
Thank you to Deanna O'Donnell and Darby for showcasing kids each week!!!
We do not know what our future holds at this time... but we will keep everyone updated!!

This is Mickey! She's a bundle of love and energy!! She's our longest tenant here at Desert Haven Animal Society... she's been here a year!!! Mickey loves people, just not other animals.... she loves to run, play in the water and to be around people!!! Please consider rescuing her before the county takes over!!!
