My incredibly intelligent , beautiful and talented wife will be updating our FB page in the coming weeks. We just returned from our trip to Mexico where I finally met my wife’s family. I learned so much and had an incredible first time out of the U.S . We are happy to be back on the land and pumping out lots of veggies. I have been doing consulting work for a neighboring farm who grows a native plant called Mamaki. Mamaki is loaded with health benefits and is made into a tea. I am teaching them permaculture techniques to implement into their planting process to maximize profits, reduce cost and enhance soil health. In between the tea we are planting our veggies in rows. Here are some photos of our process and hauls so far. We have barely scratched the surface of the available space. We have several new additions to the farm including a new puppy Frida. She is wonderful, super smart and well behaved. We have 2 new turkeys Kevin and Barbra who are Bourbon Red meat turkeys I will be breeding. And we now have a baby cow named cinnamon who is just the sweetest. I am also now the Ka’u chapter president of the Hawaii farmers union united (HFUU) and am SO excited to be part of the organization!! HFUU perfectly aligned with my already existing goals to feed the island so we are just pumped over here🤙🤘❤️🌈😬😊

Exploring the big island!

With the greenhouse completed (for the most part ) we can turn our focus towards permeation of its perimeter . The gravel delivery ushered in a more stable work environment . It has been very wet here , as it is every summer , making it difficult to get anything done . The tractor is powerful but is not invulnerable to getting stuck . Slowly but surely we are clearing land of invasive grasses , permeating the land to reduce need for fossil fuel powered maintenance and planting food right into the renewed areas . 100 years of sugar cane has destroyed the soil in this area and we are breathing new life into it !

Apologies to anyone who follows this page , I will be posting more here soon . We are not currently accepting Wwoofer’s but we do still enjoy speaking with those interested for the future . Here are some photos of current progress . The greenhouse is almost done , a goat and horse shelter going up in preparation for the coming hurricane season . Lost of veggies going in due to the new tractor . Big progress here ! Mahalo for everyone’s support 🤙❤️🙏
