Molly Johnson American Bulldogs

Molly Johnson American Bulldogs Our loving dogs are ABA and NKC registered. Our male is also ARF registered- the original Johnson American Bulldog registry. Welcome to my passion!

As a child I started working with large breed dogs from an early age--Great Danes, Rottweilers, Labradors, Goldens, and Shepherds to name a few--this passion of mine grew into working with rescues and shelters for over 10 years. In turn, a love for bully breeds grew and my first American Bulldog found me. Modoc was his name. He was my red and white bulldog rescue/foster failure and a game changer

for me. He touched so many lives around him, changed bulldog stereotyping--opening minds and hearts a like. Folks that didn't like dogs fell in love with him, his heart and temperament. You better believe, he was proof of getting back what you put in to a dog...but it was more than this too. The American Bulldog Breed was forever engraved in my heart--this was 17 years ago and I've never looked back. I've studied bloodlines, genetics, the look of what I like in an American Bulldog, function, purpose, and structure--I'm not an expert but know what I like in an American Bulldog. At the end of the day today's American Bulldog package can be very versatile and I believe, should be what FITS your lifestyle and needs. The American Bulldog itself was created as a working and guardian breed--it is a serious breed in it's size and power alone, and can be dominant and very stubborn. Please do your research and know the history of this breed--speak to as many breeders as possible before deciding on a puppy or dog of any age. If you have made it this far and are still interested......

So what is a Molly Johnson American Bulldog? They are FAMILY first and foremost. If you are interested in an Molly Johnson American Bulldog, but are looking for just a pet, or an outdoor animal and aren't willing to provide a lifelong commitment--this is not a good fit for you. We breed for sound of mind and body bulldogs, with hearts of gold and steady temperaments. We are not a kennel and have small numbers of puppies available on occasion, to special homes, that can provide the care, love, training and space this large breed needs. Whether your puppy is lounging at home by your side, out in the garden (as ours are often) in the show ring, working or on a hiking outdoor adventure with you--we like to set our puppies up for success, by carefully placing them into their forever homes, when we do have puppies available. Often there is a waiting list. Please call or message me if you think you might be interested.

We lost a vital part of our family yesterday. I am broken. My husband is broken. Argos T Johnson was our whole heart, my son, my best friend, a bright light in the lives of all those that met him. At 11.5 wonderful years he defied many odds over his lifetime and it was easy to think he would live forever. Our home is not the same - he was patriarch, pop-pop, Argostein, Teedle, my shadow day and night. I knew what he felt and he knew my heart. I’m not sure I can get over this sadness. He was gentle to everyone and thing he met. His heart was the biggest and so full of love.. and his heart at the end is what lead to complications. If we could give up years of our life for him I know we would… but that is not the way it goes. I can barely post this but I know those of you that have one of his babies or know me , know how much he meant and will mean forever.❤️always, always in my heart my big boy.

UPDATE—- our girl is staying. She is family so we have rearranged a few things here to make her life better and our life easier

We are needing to downsize our family. That whole sentence seems just wrong but we are faced with some life changes and have tried to make it work because we love our pups so much- with that being said we are not doing them a service. We have been remodeling a farm for the last two years with plans to have our elderly parents live there as well. My mom will be moving in- in several months and unfortunately our full time work schedules and care schedules leave a tight timeframe for all the attention and time that we have always dedicated to these dogs. For now we would like to find a Hazey June a loving home- and we will be VERY diligent in reference, vet checks etc.

And now about Hazey. She is 6 years old and will be spayed prior to leaving our farm. She is one of the best cuddle bugs and loves laying in your lap anytime she can! Movie nights, in the bed, on your lap in the recliner she is your girl. She is house trained loves to chew up toys and loves to play! She had an ACL surgery on one of her knees when she was 3 but has had no issues since— she tore it jumping off a 7’ deck— that was the first and last time that happened!! She has always been “crated” in a room during the day- not in an actual crate but like a bedroom, living room or laundry room— our dogs have had their own bedrooms:) and out when we are home. Hazey does well in public but would do well with a training refresher- also excellent for bonding.

She has a very strong prey drive!
NO CATS
NO CHICKENS OR ACCESS TO OTHER ANIMALS
She may get along with another male dog but no female dogs or smaller dogs. A one dog home would be ideal. She currently lives with 2 male large dogs and her mother- the only female dog I know she accepts.

She has always been very athletic and once caught a bird mid air in her mouth that flew in our house from the porch.

I would like Hazey to go to a home without children. She is a very friendly dog but has not been around kids and has not been raised with them because we don’t have any.

She is not a dog for a kennel so please if that is your intention do not ask. She needs more time and attention one on one. She would thrive as an active part of someone’s life.

We will want to keep in contact with the owner and get updates as available. We don’t do this lightly- I’ve actually always frowned on rehoming, but I also understand that sometimes life throws curve balls and adjustments have to be made. I should add that if the right home situation does not come about we will keep her and continue making it work-

Serious inquiries only please pm for more info.

Happy sixth birthday to the love litter and these beautiful babies. I still don’t know how they can be six years old!

Wishing we could claim them as family and all animal prescription insurance was a thing!
