Some breeds are even more sensitive to the heat! Brachycephalic dogs overheat easily due to their flat faces and short snouts, which hinder their ability to effectively cool themselves through panting. Their narrowed airways and other structural abnormalities restrict airflow, making it difficult to dissipate heat. Please be extra cautious and limit time outdoors this weekend if your furry friend is one of the following breeds:
Bulldogs (English and French), Pugs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, Pekingese, and Boxers, to name a few.
