We are now offering red light therapy. I had an amazing personal experience with it that I would like to share. My horse came in from the pasture with major swelling throughout both shoulders. He was unable to pick up his feet so he was dragging them and head bobbing lame. I'm guessing he fell and tried to catch himself. My business partner said she had used the therapy before and we could try it on him. The next morning I woke up and my back was hurting so bad I could not stand up straight. The night before I was on a horse demonstrating something and I twisted too much. I felt it right when I did it. So I told her my back was hurting and she suggested I try it before we do the horse. So I sat with it on my back very skeptical at that moment. A few minutes later someone walked by the barn and I turned and said hi. I realized that I just twisted all the way around and I could not do that when I sat down. I was amazed. I have had no back pain for 3 days now. The real miracle is how it worked on the horse. You could actually see it working on him. I will share his progress and results in another post. After witnessing this for myself and knowing how many people live with pain daily I thought this is what we need. So weather you use it for pain or maintenance to be able to manage your pain or reach a spot where you are pain free would be truly amazing. As a trainer we live for these moments.

I have a student working under me and she is in 9th grade. I also have a boarder that knows everything and presents herself as a trainer. So I was a little late getting out to the barn and I saw this lady teaching my student who was sitting on a barrel. So I just went on doing what I had to do. Then my student told me she was going to ride the lady's horse. She rode it in a lesson last weekend so I said ok. Then the lady starts teaching her. This lady knows nothing but acts like she knows everything.

A few minutes pass and Then I hear wait my trainer taught me to do it like this.

And I hear it again.

Then my student says wait this does not feel right. (Feel right! We are always looking for a feel on a horse) I said of course it does not feel right. If something does not feel right it probably isn't, you're going to have to make a decision.

I was on a horse by this time riding around. Then my student gets off the horse and says I'm sorry but I need to stay with her.. (meaning me) and she came up to me and I told her to get a horse out and we rode the rest of the evening. I told her how proud I was and how brave she was for standing up for what she knew was right. That not a lot of people do that any more.

Horses teach us many things. But most important they teach us how to be good people. You can't cheat a horse. You can't lie to them or hide things from them. You have to be honest, open and willing and form a partnership with them. This is why I am around horses and always will be. They get into your soul. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with some amazing young adults and watch them learn and grow. Today I am thankful for so much.
