Sadly, I didn't get pictures of Alex's event. I kinda got overwhelmed with hosting, prepping the meal, zoom and technological challenges, those there to support me and beyond. If anyone did get good pics of his table and chair I set up, please send it along to me. These are what I collected so far

We're hosting a Celebration of Life for Alex on Saturday, October 19 at 2pm and would be delighted if his friends could join us, either in person or online via Zoom. If you're interested in attending, please don't hesitate to ask for my address or the Zoom link - we'd love to share this special moment with you!

We are asking for Alex's and our friends to "hold the date" of October 19. We are going to hold Alex's Celebration of Life that afternoon. We are still in the planning stage and will be streaming it live as well as having it available after the Celebration for those that work. The Celebration will be in Oxford, Pa at the home he grew up in. For those local, you are very welcome to come and share memories of him. A more official invite will occur at a later date.

A link to the Celebration will be announced on his and my page, so please look out for it. Fb algorithms are strange and I don't know all of Alex's friends. No app will be necessary to stream. I'll provide a direct link.

I would absolutely love stories of him and memories you had with him. If you prefer not to share directly during the stream, please, please message me... tag me or ask for my cell number to provide it. I also have his cell active, so you can also text him and I'll see it. Photos are also welcome.

It is with profound sadness that I share the news of my son, Alex Praksti 's passing.

Sadly, Alexander Praksti (Alex) suddenly passed away at home in Jacksonville, Florida at the young age of 29 due to complications from a devastating knee injury.

Alex spent his youth and teen years in Oxford, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Oxford Area High School in 2013, Alex attended culinary school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2017. A lifelong learner, Alex was more recently pursing a bachelor’s degree in software development.

Adventurous by nature, Alex loved all outdoor activities. He especially loved to hike, rock climb and bike. Before his knee injury, Alex was living his dream as a talented chef.

Anyone who knew Alex described him as kind, polite and friendly; always willing to help others.

Alex will be terribly missed by his loving parents, myself and David Praksti of Oxford, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Glen and Deborah Loy; paternal grandmother, Mildred Praksti; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Alex’s life will be planned at a later date.

I will be taking a few weeks off to grieve.

Hoping 2021 is being better to you all. My business has survived 2020 and taking reservations for your much needed trips. I expect an influx of requests, and there are a few weekends already booked. I recommend at least giving me tentative dates if you know them and please let me know if you decide you don't need them.
