K9 IN TRAINING:

Officer Tim Davis and K9 Marek joined the Rockland Police Department last year as the city's new K9 Team. Over the past year they have been active; with K9 Marek assisting with several cases, including the successful detection of narcotics and fleeing suspects.

As 7-year old K9 Marek nears retirement, Officer Davis has begun training our newest member of the department; K9 Freya.

K9 Freya is a 4-month-old black lab that will be trained in tracking, evidence recovery, and narcotic detection. K9 Freya and Officer Davis will continue to train with All Points Maine Police Canines.

K9 Freya comes to the department from Mill Pond Retrievers LLC out of Owls Head where the owner David Eaton, a Rockland native, graciously donated K9 Freya to the Rockland Police Department's K9 program.

David stated that it was his way of giving back to the city that he grew up in. We are excited to see what K9 Freya can do. The dogs that come from Mill Pond Retrievers are top of the line sport and game dogs which fits nicely with what we look for in a police canine. Again, a huge thank you to David Eaton and Mill Pond Retrievers for giving back into the community to make it a safer place.

This handsome guy is joining our kennel this month. Gabel is a NAFC Barton Creek of Mustard son. He has all of his health clearances. The strength of his pedigree will work great with our lines, especially with our NFC Mickey granddaughter that is chocolate factored.

We have had lots of fun and excitement
Running in the Super Retriever Series over the past few years. It all started with a dog that I sold and the buyer placed him with Lyle Steinman at Castile Creek Kennels. The dog's name was Pasha. I followed the SRS and decided to get involved. Since then we have had some great ones! Pete also known as Sic ''em on a Chicken, Champ, and Reno. This past year we Retired Reno. He is now taking over stud duties at the kennel.

This year we will be competing with the following two dogs:

"Jet"
Iron Lady's Shock and Awe QA2
FC AFC Clooney x AFC Maggie
Jet fits well with the bloodlines in our kennel. His mom is a full sister to our Babe.

"Duke"
FC Docheno Original Ford
FC Sweetie's Easy Rider x Drake's Prima Donna MH
Duke has had an incredible career. 44 derby points, FC Title, and he made it to the 7th series in the 2022 National Open. His pedigree will cross great with our NFC Mickey bi***es!

The Babe brothers are going to be exciting to watch!
They both will be competing at the
Palmetto Retriever Club next weekend.

Jag (out of NFC Prize x Babe )will be running in the open and Wes (out of NFC Windy Cities Mighty Mouse x Babe )will be running in the qual!

Here's a picture of Dany that was taken this morning. Dany is out of a breeding that we did with Pow and our Britches.
Dani is owned by Doug Haymans (on the left). Doug is doing a great job with dogs from Mill Pond Retrievers. Doug has purchased a few dogs including a male out of Tiger that he made a field champion! Looks like you had a great hunt Doug!

This Mill Pond retriever is out of our Babe and NFC Mickey. We have two littermates to him.
Steal made the derby list, ran in the derby national, and is now Qa!
He is also a half brother to our Woody
