Big thank you to Cultivated Aquatics in Clarksville, TN for giving Legacy Line Aquatics the opportunity to supply them with fish bred and raised in house.

As a small scale breeder, this kind of support means a lot. Every fish in this delivery came from our own systems and was raised with a focus on health, proper care, and responsible husbandry.

It’s always encouraging to see a store willing to work with local and regional breeders and bring in fish with a more direct, transparent background.

Thank you again to Cultivated Aquatics for supporting small scale breeders.

We’re excited to now offer custom built-to-order aquarium stands and breeder racks at Legacy Line Aquatics.

As a carpenter by trade and fish keeper, I’ve built many aquarium stands and fish room racks. These are built with real aquarium use in mind not just appearance.

Every stand is custom built around your aquarium size, layout, wood choice, and intended use. Whether you’re needing a single display stand, a multi tank breeder rack, a grow out rack, or something more specific for your fish room, each build is made one at a time with care and attention to detail.

Available options include pine, red oak, hickory, and other hardwoods by request depending on availability.

These are not mass-produced particle board stands. They are built from real wood and designed for fish keepers who want something strong, practical, and made for their setup.

If you’re interested in a custom stand or rack, email us [email protected], or message us with your tank size, number of tanks, preferred wood, and what kind of setup you’re wanting. The more information the better.

More information is available on our website under Custom Stands. www.legacylineaquatics.com

Custom built. Made to order. Built by a fish keeper, for fish keepers.

New species added to our breeding project!

We’ve been busy getting several new tanks ready for these additions. It takes a while for a species to get settled in, and I finally got videos and pictures of each one to share.

Pea Puffers
Fire Red Cherry Shrimp
Blue Velvet Shrimp
Rainbow Cichlids
Blue Eye Gertrudae Rainbowfish
Manacapuru Angelfish
Philippine Blue Angelfish

A really fun mix of nano fish, shrimp, cichlids, rainbows, and angelfish.

These species will not be available right away. Our goal is to breed them here, raise the fry in our own systems, and offer healthy, well started fish when they are ready.

Everything at Legacy Line Aquatics is done with patience and care. We believe in breeding and raising fish the ethical way. Which means clean systems, proper nutrition, honest timelines, and no rushing fish out the door before they are ready.

We’re excited to share the progress as these new projects develop.

Building something functional takes a lot of time, work, and dedication.

What started as a utility storage rack and empty tanks is slowly turning into more space for new breeding projects here at Legacy Line Aquatics.

Between painting tanks, plumbing, bracing the rack, and all the setup work in between, adding new systems is definitely a process but it’s worth it.

More tanks means more room, healthier grow outs, and more species coming soon.

We’re excited for what’s ahead.

New species coming soon!

Fun Fish Fact Friday!

Bolivian Rams are more than just beautiful dwarf cichlids. They are incredible parents.

One of the coolest things about Bolivian Rams is that after spawning on a flat surface, the parents do not only sit there and guard the eggs. The parents prepare pits in the sand for when they hatch. Once the eggs hatch, they use their mouth to move the wrigglers into shallow pits they prepared ahead of time in the substrate, and they may even move them between multiple pits before the fry become free swimming. The eggs typically hatch in around 2 to 3 days, and the fry usually become free swimming a few days later.

This video shows that progression, from hovering over the eggs, to hatch, to free swimming fry, to time in a Dean style fry tray system, and finally to sellable size.

Like all our species, these Bolivian Rams were bred and raised in-house here at Legacy Line Aquatics.

One fish that has definitely earned a special place here at Legacy Line Aquatics is the Apistogramma cacatuoides “Double Red.”

These fish have so much personality packed into a small size. They’re always alert, aware of what’s going on around them, and full of character. And of course, the coloration is hard to ignore. The bold reds and oranges, paired with that striking pattern and finnage, make them one of those fish that instantly stand out in a tank.

They’re the kind of fish that keep pulling your attention back to the glass.

Beautiful, personable, and full of attitude in the best way.

This is one species we truly enjoy keeping, breeding, and raising.
