Critter Comforts Doggie Daycare/Extended Care And Training

Critter Comforts Doggie Daycare/Extended Care And Training Critter Comforts offers Doggie Daycare , Training and Extended Care/ Boarding at the facility. I als Dogs are social animals and love being in a pack.

I believe that in order for a dog to be truly fulfilled, they must have pack experience. No matter how hard we try to make sure all their needs are met, we can't do for them what other dogs can do. I am able to provide that for them here at Critter Comforts. They play, eat, rest, and sleep
together as a pack does with me as their strong, balanced leader.

It was still a bit chilly but it felt great to really be outside as a Pack today! I got the infamous table out and the chairs and we just had a great day!! I sure am going to miss my charges. I have never been away from them for more than 20 days a year. I also feel bad that they won’t understand why they aren’t coming to school. But I promise I will come back stronger than ever and will make it up to them. Take care everyone and please send me texts and pictures when you can. It will help me not miss them quite as much if I know what they are doing. Thanks!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Dash and I wanted to tell you that our Leader Candace is having total knee replacement on Monday March 30. None of us are happy about it because we won’t be able to see Candace or our friends again until May 12😢 Candace says she will be lost without us but says her job will be to work hard to heal fast and get back to us.She told us if she doesn’t do it we may not be able to come at all which would be terrible. She said if she gets her knee fixed she may even be able to introduce us to some new friends since she will be able to move a lot better. We would love to add more friends to our Pack!! She told us it is the very last thing she wants to do and I think she may have a hard time not being with us. But we will all come back raring to go and have a wonderful Spring , summer and fall all together again doing what we all love to do! Candace wanted me to tell you she will post her progress and some great stories about us as a lot of us plan to visit her while she recovers. Some of us will go for walks with her and our people, some of us will stop by and hang out with her and get to be in the dog yard with her and others may just sit on the patio with her. I know that will make her very happy! So this is our last week together for a bit. We will all be together before we know it and Candace will send stories and pictures of our time together again.

Some of you may remember Maya our true Pack Leader for many years. Today marks 14 years since she went to work with her Pack just over the Rainbow Bridge. Maya was incredible! She went from being a stray dog with absolutely no interest in being with people to being my teacher, work partner and best friend. She taught me everything I needed to know about dog psychology and how to work with dogs the way dogs understand instead of traditional training humans developed. I still use all that knowledge every single day and her influence continues to help me keep the Packs balanced and functional. I am always grateful for the universe bringing us together even though the first years with her were tough, especially the first 2 years. She was amazing with the dogs but being a partially feral dog made our relationship challenging. Once we got through that our relationship exploded and she became part of each other. I had never and will never have a relationship again with a dog like the one I had with her. I have lived and cherished all my dogs but Maya was different. She wasn’t really a pet she was my working partner and best friend. She changed my life and it is because of her and of course the people who have entrusted me with the care of their deeply loved companions, that I have had such success for so many years. Each night when we went home from a long day at work the second she walked through the gate to our yard and house she changed. She went from being a working dog to being more of a companion to me. After taking care of my other pets and everyone was settled she got up in her recliner, curled up and tucked her nose into her fluffy tail and sighed a deep sigh. I would say well done Maya, well done. Thank you Maya.

This is a wonderful story of rescue, commitment , and live. Rescue and adopting is so important.

This is a wonderful story of rescue, commitment , and live. Rescue and adopting is so important.

At just 10 1/2 months old, Lilith has already experienced more change and uncertainty than most dogs ever should. After being surrendered, and then adopted and returned, this will be her third family… and in that short time, she spent a total of 104 days in our care, over 1/3 of her life in a shelter.

After her failed adoption, something shifted in Lilith. You could see it in her eyes. She was still sweet, still trying, still hopeful… but there was a heaviness there, like she was quietly wondering why it hadn’t worked out for her yet.

Watching a young dog become a “long timer” is something that never gets easier. They are still just babies, but they begin to carry the weight of waiting, of being overlooked, of trying again and again to be chosen. And Lilith kept trying, every single day.

But then everything changed. The right family walked through the doors, and it was love at first sight. The kind of moment you don’t question, the kind you feel. They didn’t see a return, they didn’t see a long timer, they saw her. And they chose her.

Families who choose adoption don’t always realize the depth of what they’re giving. It’s more than a home. It’s more than a couch or a yard or a routine. It’s a second chance, sometimes a third, at a life that finally feels safe, stable, and real.

And for dogs like Lilith, who have waited, who have wondered, who have tried so hard to belong, that chance means everything. Long timers feel it differently. They carry their stories with them, and when they are finally chosen, there is something so powerful in the way they settle in, like they’ve been waiting for this exact moment all along.

And Lilith is already showing just how ready she was. We’ve been hearing the most beautiful updates. She is thriving. She is settling in like she’s always belonged there. And in true Lilith fashion, she has already made it very clear that 8 PM is bedtime, and she fully expects everyone to respect that 🤣 Some things never change.

Lilith’s journey wasn’t easy, but she never stopped being worthy of this ending. We are incredibly proud of her, absolutely beaming with joy watching her step into this next chapter. Dogs like Lilith don’t just pass through our doors… they stay with us. She feels like a child we helped raise, and seeing her finally home is something we will carry with us for a long time.

And this moment doesn’t just belong to Lilith. It belongs to the staff and volunteers who stood beside her every day, the ones who worked with her, advocated for her, loved her through the uncertainty, and made sure she never felt forgotten, even on the hardest days. It belongs to the people who believed her story wasn’t over yet.

And most of all, it belongs to the family who said yes, and meant it.

Third time’s the charm, Lilith. You were always worth waiting for ❤️
