FRIENDS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!
I know most of you have been paying attention to the animal felony cruelty case involving Pinto, the beautiful black-and-white horse who was dragged by a pick up truck to his death (by Guadalupe Camarillo Guarneros) and left dead on the side of the road in late June in Sunrise Manor in Clark County. The case is in front of Judge Jasmin Lilly-Spells and while he did plead guilty yesterday, because of the English language barrier, there was some confusion toward the end of the hearing and so Judge Lilly-Spells reset the hearing to November 4 at 9:15 AM.
We need the judge to include restitution in the sentencing. We need you to put that in an email to her, please. She needs to “please include financial restitution for the veterinarian care and sterilization of the pigs who were confiscated from his residence” when Metro arrested him.
Windy’s Ranch & Rescue has paid a total $7,962.20 to date, with at least $7,000 still to come, as we vet and sterilize the moms and now their piglets. Our small rescue cannot handle this financial burden by ourselves, this criminal should be responsible for all of it, no matter how long it takes him to pay.
We need to send this message to people breeding unlicensed and irresponsibly: that if you’re caught, there will be heavy penalties. Ironically, the elections are in November and candidates are listening right now, so let’s take this opportunity to seize the moment.
Justice for Pinto and the Pigs.
The official court email for Judge Jasmin Lilly-Spells (Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 23) is [email protected]
Thank you doesn’t seem enough, we are deeply grateful for your help with this.
