Happy Myth Busting Monday!

Myth: Cats love milk ❌
Reality: Many adult cats are lactose intolerant and cannot properly digest milk, which can cause an upset stomach.

It's flea prevention friday! Ok, maybe not the most elegant topic. But flea prevention is very important to your pet's health! ⚕️🐶

Fleas aren't just a nuisance—they can also carry diseases. When dogs or cats groom themselves, they may accidentally swallow fleas infected with parasites.

Talk to your veterinarian about flea control products that are right for your pet. 💊💉

Treat pets for fleas year-round in order to kill adult fleas and prevent new ones from hatching.

Always follow product instructions.
If you find a flea on your pet or in your home, learn how to get rid of fleas right away to avoid further infestation.

Happy National Vet Tech Week! 🩺

This week we will be introducing you to all of our techs and vet assistants. Second up we have Haleigh. Haleigh is originally from Ottumwa, Iowa she graduated from Pekin High School. She started working for Animal Health Centers part time in our Albia location as our groomer before becoming an assistant at our Ottumwa location. When Haleigh isn’t working you can find her spending time with her kids and fiancé. Haleigh’s favorite part about being a assistant is helping animals in need and getting to build relationships with our patients.

If you see Haleigh be this week be sure to thank her for all of her hard work, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our techs and assistants! 👏
