Ottumwa Recycles

Ottumwa Recycles We are a Municipal Recycling Center serving Davis and Wapello Counties. The Ottumwa/Wapello County is a municipal recycling center.

It is owned jointly by the City of Ottumwa and Wapello County. It does not receive any tax revenue for operations. The Ottumwa/Wapello County Landfill and Recycling Center are one department (even though we are not on the same property), and both operations operate from Landfill tipping fees, and the sale of recyclable material. We serve Davis and Wapello Counties. We also operate the Ottumwa/Wapello County Regional Collection Center at the Recycling Center by appointment only.

Excited for the Wicked movie? So are we! Did you know that recycling your old batteries is just as powerful as a flying broomstick? 🧹

♻️ Batteries contain important materials that can be reused and turned into other products such as sunscreen, asphalt and stainless steel silverware, so don’t let them end up in landfills. Drop them off at one of the Call2Recycle collection points and let’s make sure we all defy waste this season.

It’s easy, green, and just as powerful as Elphaba's flying broomstick.

Ready to get involved? Learn how easy it is to recycle batteries with us at the link in our bio!

Reminder: Keep All Trash and Recycling Containers Apart

To keep collections running smoothly please remember to keep all trash and recycling containers at least three feet apart. Space between containers is required for the collection arm to reach in safely and grab a hold of the trash cans. Containers that aren’t three feet apart may not be collected.
