Puhek Farm's , Farming together for 45 years We have been in business for 23 years , About Our Farm
Nestled between two lakes, Newman Lake to the north and Liberty Lake to the south. Our farm sits in the fertile Spokane Valley where farming heritage runs deep. To keep that heritage alive we strive to farm much like our families
did years ago with a flock of laying hens for eggs and a variety of

heirloom vegetables . Keeping up with the modern world we take the old way of farming in hand and mold it to fit into the needs of today. Sue and Paul Puhek and Family, Puhek Farm's Farming together for 45 years. We use sustainable growing methods to bring the best produce we can to the market. We sell at Liberty lake Farmers market on sat. We now take credit cards. www.facebook.com/LibertyLakeFarmersMarket?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser

We decided to “skip the market” last Saturday — but that certainly didn’t mean we skipped work on the farm! So, what does a “skip the market day” look like at S&P Homestead Farm? Well… it turns out “skipping the market” doesn’t mean sitting around doing nothing! Here’s a little peek at what we were up to instead.

We’ll be back at the Liberty Lake Farmers Market next Saturday, September 5th. See you there!

We will not be at the Liberty Lake Farmers Market this Saturday, August 29th.

We’re taking a week to give some things a chance to ripen, do some processing, and catch up on some much-needed maintenance and repairs.

We’ll be back on Saturday, September 5th!

For all of our out-of-area friends, we are safe from the Spokane area fires.

The fire is about 20 miles northwest of us and is not likely to reach our area, especially now that the high winds have passed.

The biggest impact for us right now is the smoke. It's very smoky outside, and the air quality is currently in the unhealthy range. We're limiting our time outdoors and keeping a close eye on conditions.

Meet the hammerhead worm. James Cameron could base a new sci-fi trilogy on it.

These invasive flatworms eat our valuable earthworms (rude) and secrete a toxin to subdue its prey (extra rude).

Before you panic, it’s not dangerous to humans. BUT you shouldn’t handle it with bare hands. Gloves on, always. Also, don’t cut it or smash it. The bits can regenerate into new worms. (sci-fi much?)

If found, use gloves to place the worm in a bag or disposable and then do one of the following:

• Sprinkle salt in the container

• Pour vinegar in the container

• Place the container in direct sunlight

Finally, after ensuring it “won’t be back,” dispose the sealed container with the worm in it and report your sighting on the WA Invasives App: https://invasivespecies.wa.gov/report-a-sighting/
