It is with great sadness, that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend Arthur Leddy.

Arthur dedicated his career to Butte Oroville Veterinary Hospital since he was 16 years old. For over 25 years, he was an amazing leader, mentor, friendly face, and offered a wealth of knowledge to all who walked through the hospital doors. He started as a kennel attendant, as many of us do in the veterinary field, and over the years became a veterinary assistant and then attended registered veterinary technician schooling. He loved helping animals, but more than anything, helping people.

Arthur worked with numerous veterinarians, receptionists, assistants and technicians over the years, who all loved and respected him. He was the heart of this hospital, and the mold that kept us a close-knit team, serving everyone he came in contact with. His soul was pure and calm and he knew exactly how to ground our team during the toughest times. He was selfless and cared about his colleagues during and after hours, and always made us feel important.

Our hearts are shattered. We will never forget all that he did for this hospital, who he influenced, and how he made us all better people by just knowing him. He never failed to remind us of his love for being on an island somewhere, living life to the fullest - and we know he’s finally at peace, doing just that.

Sending his family our deepest condolences during this time.

We miss you Arthur, and will continue to let your legacy live on through this hospital forever. ❤️🩺🐶

We would like to wish Dr. Dent a very Happy Birthday today and to announce his Retirement! 🐶 🎉 🐱
Two weeks ago, Dr. Dent spent his last working day with us celebrating his retirement from the veterinary field. We are sad to see him go, but so happy for him, as he deserves this long-awaited retirement. Dr. Dent spent countless hours, dedicating his time and education to the community of Oroville for many years, and has touched the lives of many pets and clients and especially staff members, who he taught so much to. We are going to miss him terribly!
