I grew up with animals in Southern California. My elementary school had horses. My dad's best friend had a ranch we went to every vacation. Instead of babysitting as a teen I pet sat. As an adult I had birds, and later cats. When I graduated High school I moved to Hawaii where I met and married and had my daughter. We raised her in Ormond by the Sea. I moved back to Cali when she grew up, to be ne

ar fam and friends. That's when I had the epiphany that I wanted to work with animals, 2008. So I went online to volunteer at the humane society and after I filled out the form I saw a link to their day care, sent them an email asking if they're hiring, and they were and they did! It was one of the funnest jobs I've ever had! But after 3 months they sold the business and I got laid off, so I went out on my own with a few clients they didn't want or that didn't want to go with them. I moved back to Ormond to be close to my grand kids in 2016.

Update: The puppy is being taken to Cross Creek in Staplehurst.

This sweet girl was found by the 379 exit on I-80. As much as Deputy Rebeiro likes her, we would like to get her to his rightful owner. Please contact our non-emergency number if you know who she may belong to.

My Story

My name is Cathy (Catherine) Hart. I had pets growing up and would pet sit for folks back then. I started pet sitting full time in 2008 when an acquaintance asked me to stay at her house in Cardiff, California for a month and take care of her dog, Tchitchou, while she was out of the country. When she came back I applied to volunteer at Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s ‘Day Care For Dogs’ in Encinitas, Ca. Instead of giving me a volunteer spot they gave me a paying job. It was 2009. A few others and I drove a few vans on a route to pick up clients and bring them to the yard to play and give them attention all day. Then take them back home. It was one of the funnest jobs I’ve had, to be with 30-40 dogs at a time! But the business was sold and some clients didn’t want to give their dogs to somebody they didn’t know, so I broke off on my own and some of my closest clients followed. In 2016 my daughter started a family so I had to say goodbye to my pack and move back to Ormond-by-the-Sea to be close to my Grandson. And now a new pack is growing...
