Come on everyone please help us get this done!

Pop Smoke K9 for Veterans is a 501(c)(3) that trains psychiatric service dogs and places them with veterans and first responders at no cost. We have put about 25 dogs into homes across more than 18 states. Every one of those placements happened on the road.

Right now we move veterans and dogs in whatever vehicle is available. That is not a plan. It is what we have.

A van fixes it. Veterans get to training. Dogs get to their handlers. Teams get to public access work, evaluations, and follow ups without anyone paying for a rental or borrowing a truck.

Here is the part that matters to a donor. This van will not sit still between transports.

When it is not carrying veterans, it runs as our K9 Cardio van. Mobile treadmill sessions for dog owners who live in apartments or work long hours and cannot exercise their dog the way it needs. Veterans do the work and get paid for it. The revenue comes back to Pop Smoke every month.

So this is not a one time gift that gets used up. It is a vehicle that pays for the next dog, and the one after that.

We need 9,000 dollars. That is the full number for a used cargo van we can put to work immediately. If you would rather donate a van outright, we will take it.

Right now there’s a veteran on our waitlist who hasn’t left his house in three weeks except for doctor appointments. He’s not the only one. We have a list of names and every name is a person who’s still fighting a war nobody else can see. We can’t train dogs faster than we can fund them. That’s the honest truth. Your donation doesn’t go to overhead or salaries we don’t have. It goes to dog food, training hours, and vet bills for animals who are going to save somebody’s life.

Before Tobey, I didn't sleep through the night. I checked locks four times. I sat with my back to the wall in restaurants. That's not a metaphor. That's what untreated PTSD looks like from the inside. A trained dog changed that. Not therapy dog. Not comfort dog. A working psychiatric service dog trained to interrupt panic before it takes over. We've placed 25 of these dogs with veterans and first responders across 18 states. Every single one was free to the person who needed it. That only works because people who've never met these veterans decide to help anyway.

A service dog costs us about $25,000 to train and place. We give it away for free to every veteran who qualifies. That number doesn't go away just because we don't charge for it. Somebody covers it. Right now that somebody is us, one donor at a time. $25 feeds a dog in training for a week. $100 covers a month of vet care. You don't have to cover the whole thing. Just cover your part.
