💔 Rocco is running out of time.

This handsome 5-year-old boy is showing signs of kennel stress after spending too long in the shelter. Staff report heavy vocalization and frustration in his kennel, but that’s not who Rocco truly is.

Once he feels safe and comfortable, Rocco becomes social, affectionate, and enjoys human companionship. He just needs someone willing to give him the chance.

🐾 Needs treatment for recurrent pyoderma (skin infection)

⚠️ Rocco has a deadline of Tuesday, June 16 at 5 PM and needs a foster and rescue commitment to leave the shelter alive.

🏠 Fostering is FREE. A foster home gives a rescue somewhere to send him and is often the missing piece that saves a life.

💲 Pledges are also greatly appreciated and can help offset veterinary costs, making it easier for a rescue to step up for Rocco.

🚨 FOUND ALONE IN A CONDEMNED BUILDING 💔🚨 RESCUE ONLY – NEEDS FOSTER & RESCUE

Meet Marlin 🤍🤍

This sweet senior was found completely alone in a condemned building, but despite whatever he’s endured, he still has the kindest eyes and the gentlest soul.

At 9 years young and 38 pounds, Marlin is looking for a soft place to land. He can be fearful in new situations and may need a little time to warm up, but he is social with other dogs and deserves the chance to feel safe and loved again.

Marlin may be dealing with some skin allergies and will need to be seen by a full-service veterinarian. Because of his medical needs, he is currently rescue only and cannot leave the shelter without a rescue partner and a committed foster.

💔 Boone is only 2 years old and has been at OCAS since 2/16. After nearly four months in the shelter, the stress of kennel life is beginning to take a toll.

This handsome boy is playful, affectionate, loves toys, and enjoys attention from his handlers. Staff noted that after a stressful moment in the play yard, Boone quickly returned to being his friendly, happy self once removed from the situation.

Boone doesn’t need perfection. He needs a chance.

🚨 POTENTIAL RESCUE INTEREST — WE NEED PLEDGES NOW 🚨

Chico has already been failed once.

Reportedly abandoned when his owners moved away, he was later found injured on the side of the road with a fractured hip.

Now a rescue is considering helping him, but medical cases like this require funding.

The more pledges we can raise, the better his chances of leaving the shelter alive.

🚨 URGENT: Declan Needs a Foster or Adopter 🚨

Declan’s foster family is undergoing back-to-back surgeries and, heartbreakingly, they will no longer be able to care for him during recovery. He urgently needs a new foster or forever home.

Declan is a 5-year-old, 66 lb sweetheart who truly just wants to be part of your life. His foster says he loves people and happily greets everyone, both at home and on walks. He’s affectionate, playful, curious, and loves cuddling up for naps with his humans.

He enjoys:
🐾 Walks
🐾 Car rides
🐾 Toys and tug
🐾 Squirrel patrol duty (still no squirrels caught 😅)
🐾 Being as close to you as possible

He’s also:
✔️ Neutered
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Heartworm negative
✔️ Well-behaved in the home
✔️ Knows commands like sit and paw

Dog/Cat Notes:
• No cats
• Has done well with a neighbor’s Golden Retriever and has shown positive interactions with other dogs while supervised
• Kids not formally tested, but he is extremely friendly and affectionate with people and guests

Declan really sounds like the total package, a loyal companion who just wants love, walks, and a comfy spot to nap near his people.

Myla is a 3-year-old girl who came in as a stray and is suspected to be a possible cruelty case. 💔 Despite everything she’s been through, staff describe her as gentle, cooperative, and seeking comfort from handlers.

She urgently needs rescue placement by Friday, June 5th at 5PM due to serious medical needs that cannot be managed in the shelter environment.

Medical concerns include:
▪️ Pelvic fracture
▪️ Severe hind-end ataxia (L>R)
▪️ Curling of left hind paw with neurologic deficits
▪️ Requires sling walks every 4–6 hours
▪️ Emaciated with chronic skin issues/hair loss
▪️ Intestinal parasites and dental disease

Even while injured, Myla has:
🤍 Allowed handling and repositioning without aggression
🤍 Taken medications gently
🤍 Been carried room to room calmly
🤍 Sought comfort and affection from staff

She needs transfer to a full-service veterinary facility for further diagnostics, treatment, and supportive care.
