This little guy is John, an American Cocker Spaniel, and he came to Nautilus Dog Grooming for his very first professional haircut. He is a special client for me as he was bred by my mentor at Encore Cockers & Cavaliers. He is a show prospect and we’ll be growing and maintaining his beautiful coat for the show ring. I’m very excited to watch John grow into a gorgeous AKC champion.

The last photo, taken as he was leaving after his groom, feels extra special to me because over 20 years ago my biggest dream as a groomer and cocker owner was to groom American Cocker Spaniels for the show ring, and this picture is visual representation of that dream coming true.

Blitzen is just 6 months old and already beginning his show career. He’s still learning the ins and outs of show grooming, and side eyeing a few grooming tools that come his way, but it’s clear he has a bright future ahead. Looking forward to watching him grow and develop into a stunning champion 🏆✨
