We’ve asked for your support before and you’ve never let us down. We need y’all more than ever.

Shelters are full with dogs being surrendered at never before seen rates. Since there is no end in sight and not a lot of options available, dogs are being euthanized within days to make room, or being abandoned and turned out into the fields/woods.

We are doing all that we can to help, but our two limiting factors remain the same - we need fosters and donations.

These dogs will have their normal vetting bills to cover - vaccinations, spay/neuters, dentals, bloodwork, radiographs, microchips, and grooms. In addition, any and all medical issues will be treated, meaning medicine and ongoing vet visits when necessary. AND, because we don’t have enough fosters, we are incurring daily boarding fees for each dog camping out with our vets until a foster is found.

Below are the pups (and a cat!) who are in immediate need. EOAH stands for East Orlando Animal Hospital, and CVH stands for Chuluota Animal Hospital (RTG means Ready To Go). All fosters must be willing and able to drive to the vet where they are located (and be able to transport to and from any additional vetting).

The listed dogs are new to us so everything we know is included, along with the only photo we have. We depend on the fosters to provide photos and personality insight to help our pups get adopted by approved applicants only. PPR covers the costs of all vetting and will supply you with p*e pads/belly bands/food/beds/toys as needed.

To apply to foster and for a list of FAQ’s, visit our website at https://poodleandpoochrescue.org/apply-to-foster/

Cereal - He's a beautiful, sweet boy, 2 yr old Chi mix, just 17 lbs, loves other dogs of all sizes, not sure about cats, he's on a special diet for a history of crystals in his urine, he needs to stay on this for life (cost is no more than a quality dog food), said to walk great on a leash, very friendly, happy boy and loves kids too. He's RTG at EOAH. He shouldn't need any follow-up at EOAH and should be ready to list shortly after he settles into foster care.

Chia - *only dog* Temp foster needed until 9/30. 3 yrs old, 29 lb Terrier mix girl - Chia is a love! She loves life and people. She was rescued from the streets after being struck by a car while she was pregnant. She raised her precious pups and was an amazing mother. Chia is currently at Beyond The Leash dog training and is learning great basic manners. She's RTG at Beyond The Leash. She needs to be the only dog.

Lucas - 5 yrs old, 10 lbs, poodle terrier mix. He came to us after ending up at an overcrowded shelter with nowhere to go. Lucas did not like being poked and prodded by the vet, we cannot blame him for that, but he's fine when he's not being restrained. He is good with other dogs, all adults, no young children but older kids ok. We are unsure how he would do with cats. He's neutered but needs a dental. He will need to return to EOAH for his dental but he's RTG now.

Nibbles - 3 yrs old and 12 lbs, he's an adorable tan Chi mix boy. He's been boarding for a while now and would love to experience what life is like in a home! PPR was asked to help with a hoarding situation out of Union County, FL. Nibbles is fearful and will need to be treated as a flight risk (secure harness, drag leash, closed doors, supervised in the yard at all times, etc). His vetting is complete and he shouldn't require any follow-up visits. This sweet guy needs an experienced foster parent because he can get possessive of "his" people once he bonds and feels safe with you. He's a very sweet boy and needs time to feel comfortable, learn to live a good, safe life with comfy couches and yummy food, and settle in. He previously lived outside with many other dogs. He just needs to get used to living inside with loving humans. Can you please help get this guy out of boarding? He's RTG at EOAH.

Pop Tart - 12-pound male 1-year-old chi/dachshund mix turned into the shelter as a stray and never reclaimed. Pop Tart is a little shy and nervous at first, but as soon as he knows you're safe, he will be your best bud! He is excellent with other dogs, all people, and gentle kids ok too. He will be RTG from EOAH soon but will need to return for his neuter surgery.

Ralph - Beagle/Terrier 6 yr old, 14 lbs. He's had a rough life and shows signs of severe neglect. How can you say no to that pitiful face? He cowers when approached but was incredibly sweet and docile during his exam. He has dry eye and will need eye meds administered. He could use some TLC and a good place to heal with healthy food and a soft bed. He is good with other dogs, all adults, unsure about cats, but he'd likely be ok given his gentle nature. Ralph is RTG from EOAH. Ralph will need to return for his neuter surgery.

Tommy - 2-year-old neutered west highland terrier mix. 18 lbs, He was found as a stray and no one came forward for this cutie pie. He is neutered, and an overall healthy guy. Tommy is good with other dogs, and all adults. He will be ready to go from EOAH on Thursday.

Zeus and London - Zeus 2-year-old Yorkie and his pal London, and a 9-year-old cat, found themselves in need of a home after their owner became ill and unable to care for them. The owner said this pair does better together as London loves his canine brother. Zeus is a delightful and happy-go-lucky boy that loves everyone he meets. London is a bit on the shy side, but friendly. Both boys were easy to handle at CVH during their exams. Zeus is housetrained and London is litter box trained. Both are healthy and RTG from CVH and should not require any more follow-ups.

Raisin - 10-month-old female Yorkie mix, 7 lbs. Raisin came to us from an overcrowded shelter. She is good with other dogs. Raisin is a dainty little girl that is shy at first but warms up quite quickly. She'll be ready to go from CVH on Thursday, but she will need to return for her spay surgery.
