โ€˜Tis the Season & MC Pups Need NYLABONES!!
There are many homeless dogs at our county shelter, like BROWNIE, who will be spending Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ alone this year. Weโ€™d like to do something special for them to make their days a little brighter! A Nylabone for every pup!! The dogs love having a Nylabone in their kennel. It helps pass the time! But the shelter supply is low & the bones they have are quite worn. *They need โ€˜Power Chewโ€™ Large NYLABONES (see photos) esp the BARBELLS (Dura chew up to 50lb size).
PLEASE donโ€™t forget BROWNIE & his pals this holiday season!

ZOE weathered the storm bunked at a fosterโ€™s house, but now sheโ€™s back at the shelter in search of a more permanent situation. This girl gets High Marks! She is a very interesting breed, a Catahoula Leopard dog. Typical of her kind, ZOE, is Sweetness Plus with a touch of Independence. She is Gentle, Pleasant & very Easy to Handle. She loves her walks & likes to focus on taking in the sights. Sheโ€™s a Serious Stroller! Sheโ€™s also one who doesnโ€™t ask for much, but is happy to seek Affection from people she feels Safe.
ZOE has her moments of joy of late, but also sadness & challenges. ZOE is deaf. Itโ€™s not easy being a deaf dog at a shelter. She misses the serenity of living in a calm, understanding home.

Dogs & Cats-prefers to live solo due to the challenges of being unable to hear.

Hernando County Animal Services overcapacity crisis looms with recent seizure of 30+ dogs and constant intakes.

HCAS has to make extremely difficult euthanasia decisions if they cannot bring the number of dogs in their care down to 78, by 3pm this Saturday, 6/22. Adoptions have slowed down, and rescues are full, but we know the power of our social media and our communities determination to help!

Whether youโ€™re looking for a young energetic pup, an outgoing senior or a sweet cuddle bug, your dog is here waiting for you. Adoptions fees continue to be waived.

Water loving pup Needs a Home!!
Dream of spending your days on or near the water? So does BUTCH! He loves the beauty, peace & solitude. So different from his life at the shelter. Thankfully, he was able to spend a few days away from his kennel, but sadly, will have to return soon. BUTCH is a Sweet, Innocent soul. Everybody loves him! Heโ€™s Kind, Friendly & very Affectionateโ€ฆ. the type you instantly like. He is also Smart, Connected & Uncomplicated. He truly is the โ€˜no troubleโ€™, likes his naps, easy to handle, fun guy who just happens to be deaf. Donโ€™t worry, tho. Heโ€™s ok with it. He doesnโ€™t know he canโ€™t hear. It hasnโ€™t stopped him from being Wonderful. โค๏ธ

URGENTโ€ผ๏ธ Manatee County Shelter is over-loaded with dogs. As temps soar into the 90s this week, there are some dogs confined to outdoor kennels. NO MORE A/C INSIDE SPACE AVAIL. Anyone who has some room in their home to offer a dog some relief, PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING for whatever amount of time works for you.
Take a dog for an afternoon a/c car ride and an ice cream. The nites are hot and humid but the days are brutal. Shelter is in Palmetto, FL open everyday. TEXT

If ever there was a comedian in dog form, Bernie would be it. He may need some training, he likely wonโ€™t come when called, but his exuberant, bouncy, happy personality and meaty jowly face will keep you giggling and smiling all day long.

His squeaky toy obsession adds an extra dash of fun to his personality. Chasing after his favorite toys bring him endless joy and fills the play yard with laughter. Bernie needs a young, strong companion who wants to take this shelter sign with so much potential and work with him to be the dog we know he can be.

Bernie is happy to be the canine king of the house or he maybe willing to have a doggy sibling. We recommend a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Bernie says cats are a hard NO. We havenโ€™t seen him around kiddos,.
