While fireworks are a blast for us, they can be terrifying for our four-legged family members. As we get closer to the Fourth and summer celebrations, here are a few tips to keep your pets safe and calm:

🐶 Never leave pets outside unattended
Fireworks can spook even the most relaxed dogs — causing them to bolt, jump fences, or even injure themselves trying to escape.

🏠 Create a safe, cozy space indoors
Set up a comfy area away from windows with familiar toys, blankets, and background noise like a TV or white noise machine to drown out the sounds.

🧸 Use calming aids
Consider a ThunderShirt, calming chews, or vet-approved medications if your pet has severe anxiety. Natural remedies like lavender sprays (pet-safe!) can also help soothe nerves.

🎧 Muffle the noise
Turn on calming music, fans, or a sound machine to help mask the booms and cracks.

🪪 Make sure your pet has ID
If the worst happens and your pet runs off, having a collar with up-to-date tags and a microchip could be lifesaving.

💛 Stay close if you can
