G is a 2011 model Dutch Warmblood. Making treats she enjoys was a big motivator for us. Nutrition with horses in their prime is important and with fresh, local to us ingredients (some we grow ourselves!) like honey, oats, almond hulls and good fats, we are confident we're feeding her the best treats on the market. I think she likes them 😉We've developed our treats with the help of 6 experts: 6 mares with ages ranging from 3 to almost 30. 4 Dutch warmbloods, one AQHA and one Thoroughbred. I like to call them my picky ickies, so for them to love our treats and continue to choose them over anything else, is truly something. We are beyond happy with the end result.

Only the best California grown oats 🖤We use both whole and rolled varieties in our treats. Oats contain a highly digestible form of starch that doesn’t require heat treatment or processing. Therefore oats can be fed whole and unprocessed to horses. Oats are the only grain fed to horses that contain starch that is easily digested raw. The digestibility of the starch in raw oats is around 85-90% while the digestibility of the starch in other grains tops out at 35%. While oats are used somewhat sparingly in our recipes, there is a purpose. Horses choose oats over most other feed when given an option, so the increase in desire and palatability is major for us. They also add chew and mouth feel-something we think is overlooked in the current treat market. We are proud to use only best California grown oats in our treats to ensure the finest ingredients for you equine partner.

*Did you know: For horses, almond hulls are comparable to soybean hulls and beet pulp as super fibers, and can be safely incorporated at up to 45% of the diet*.
Super fibers are highly digestible feedstuffs that horses ferment in the hindgut to produce volatile fatty acids. Those short-chain fatty acids are absorbed from the intestine to the bloodstream and are important sources of energy for horses.
