I’ve been asked by a few how I chose which puppy I keep, when I raise puppies so frequently what exactly stood out enough to keep Capella?
I wait for temperament evaluations which are done on the day they turn 7 weeks, and then consider conformation for show. Which for her will be local UKC shows as she’s multi color and not a candidate to show in AKC. Although AKC registered.
I’m looking for a puppy who blends seamlessly into our home.
I’ve got young kids, farm animals, and plenty of adult poodles of all ages that she’ll need to get along with and does.
With her parents and all my parent dogs, they are genetically tested and fully OFA certified.
So each puppy is a candidate in regard to health. I look deeply into which puppy I think can bring something to the table for the next generation, and that shines through with Capella.
At 8 weeks old she had a strong family connection. That’s absolutely a trait I value in my dogs, as majority do go to be family pets.
She’s intelligent, and loyal already!
I think her conformation is a promising improvement on the small things I would have liked to add to her parents.
Her energy level fits our home.
She can keep up and then sleep the hour drive home before she’s ready to do this all over again!
I love her so much already. I’m really excited to watch her grow up!

Simply too beautiful not to share too!
I told Kayla if I bumped into a poodle like him in public I’d simply pass away from excitement. He’s adorable and doing so great with her!
Hobie is a service prospect, as well as showing, and most importantly a valued companion. They’ve already accomplished so much and he’s only 6 months old!

North x Jaxon’s litter made an appearance at the vets today for a quick check in and then vaccines before a few of these little stars start heading home.
I have truly enjoyed this litter.
It actually reminded me so much of the litter North was in as a puppy, which was a top favorite for me. 🤍
I have one male accepting applications right now, he can travel via flight nanny to any major airport!

I love puppy update pictures!
Cyrus was orange collar in Ruby x Nicky’s litter. His owners send me lovely updates on him, this week he said;
He’s SUCH a good guy. What a personality. Truly amazing. He just is so easy to live with. He picks up the routines. So smart. From leash walking, to riding in the car it’s like he’s always been doing it.
If you have a dog from one of my litters, send over an update! I’ll make sure to share them too.
