Extreme Heat Warning is in effect in our county until 9:00pm with a heat index up to 105. 🌡

Heatstroke is our biggest concern for pets on days like today. Heatstroke occurs when your pet's body temperature rises to a dangerous level and is unable to cool down. This can happen quickly during hot or humid weather. Signs to look out for in dogs and cats include excessive panting, difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, sudden collapse, and even seizures.

Overweight pets, senior pets, short-muzzled or short-faced dogs and cats, and pets with heart or lung conditions are more prone to developing heatstroke than others. Please use caution when taking your pets out today and be sure to provide plenty of water. If you suspect your pet is experiencing symptoms of a heatstroke, call us or your nearest emergency clinic immediately.

Originally from Guayama, Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera began his journey in veterinary medicine by earning his Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he graduated with the Class of 2013 and later earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Biomedical Sciences in 2017, with a focus on Infectious Diseases. 💉

Dr. Rivera joined Country View Veterinary Service in February 2026 and is passionate about building lasting relationships with pets and their families. 💚 He believes that strengthening the human-animal bond is at the heart of exceptional veterinary care and enjoys partnering with clients to find the best solutions for each patient's unique needs. His professional interests include preventive medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Rivera is also vetted and accredited by Hunt.Vet, reflecting his commitment to supporting the hunting dog community. 🦆 Through his collaboration with Hunt.vet, he works closely with hunting dog owners to understand the unique partnership they share with their dogs and provide care tailored to the specific health, performance, and lifestyle needs of these hardworking canines.

At home, Dr. Rivera enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter. Their family includes Teno, their beloved dog, and Jimmy, their playful conure. 🐦 Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rivera loves camping, hiking, and canoeing with his family, staying active through sports and fitness, taking motorcycle rides, and playing the guitar. 🎸

Meet our newest veterinarian, Dr. Cunningham! 🥳 Dr. Cunningham earned her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UW-Madison. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is helping pets while building lasting relationships with the people who love them. 💛

When not in clinic, Dr. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her husband, their Golden Retriever 🐕 Moose, baking, and reality TV. She grew up horseback riding and hopes to pick up the reins and jump back in the saddle again soon! 🐎

Meet Brittany, our Lead Customer Support Representative, who has been with the Country View team since 2023! She truly enjoys welcoming everyone into the clinic and helping create a positive experience for each client who walks through our doors.

Before joining us, Brittany worked as a preschool teacher after earning her degree in psychology from UW–Whitewater. Her passion for helping others and her caring nature shine through in everything she does.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with her huskies, whether that’s going for walks, taking a swim, or simply enjoying the outdoors. She also loves to relax with a good book, hang out with friends and family, and travel the world, finally crossing Spain off her bucket list this fall!

Originally from Edgerton, Brittany now lives in Stoughton with her husband and their dogs.
