What an amazing horse show weekend! All of our riders did fantastic and showed such great sportsmanship.
Finley brought home a first-place ribbon on Rocky at his first show since coming home from the auction pen just a few months ago. Camille placed third in a huge, competitive class on Breezy—her second time ever riding her! Amber nailed her diagonals and had a beautiful ride on Miss Classy, placing in her very first show. Elsie was one of the youngest riders in all her classes and definitely had one of the spunkiest little ponies. She kept Peaches perfectly steady and held her own through all her classes, even opting to canter her poles class (beautifully, I might add).
Falyn, after a tough week of refusals at home, had three beautiful, stop-free rounds in the large cross-rails class and placed first in her Hunter round. Avery held her own in her and Breezy’s first-ever over-fences classes, riding two beautiful rounds and doing fantastic in all her flat classes. Anna absolutely killed it on Jack and managed to canter her entire cross-rails course—which, if you know Jack, is an incredible feat!
Addie brought Diva to her first show since coming home (Diva was just started when she arrived at the farm in June). Addie was nervous after an eventful schooling session Saturday morning, but she stuck it out and even joined the cross-rails class, placing in her equitation class. Sadie also brought her new mount, Willow. She showed with extraordinary equitation in all her rounds and even placed second in her taxpole jumpers class. Zoe did the 2’ on Classy, placing in both of her over-fences classes. She also competed in the gaming Friday night with some great runs. She also was an amazing role model to the younger riders of what we expect out of our students.
Out of all the ribbons, what we are most proud of is the way our riders handled themselves. Every rider congratulated others—both from our farm and from other barns. They clapped for every rider, took losses in stride, cheered other riders on and celebrated every win together. Every horse was patted after their class, and every rider wore a smile. We all helped each other and anyone who needed it.
All of the parents were so supportive and helpful, keeping nerves calm and bellies full. Our horses were exceptional, and now everyone is home enjoying a well-deserved day off.
