SandDancer Canine Swim 🐾 At SandDancer Canine Swim Therapy, we provide one-on-one, warm-water workouts for dogs of all ages & health conditions. Our facility is by appointment only.

Our low-impact, guided swim sessions promote healing, fitness, and confidence—helping pups move, play, and thrive! 💙💦 At SandDancer Canine Swim Fitness, our goal is to serve dog owners or “canine parents” seeking to enhance their pets’ fitness and overall well-being. Owner Mary Beth Glatz, is multi-certified in Canine Water Therapy from The Association of Water Canine Therapy (ACWT). At SandDancer

Canine Swim Fitness we provide quality exercise and warm-water workouts for dogs of all ages and health conditions, from young pups to adult dogs to geriatric dogs in need of supervised and guided exercise. At SandDancer Canine Swim Fitness our primary service is an individualized canine warm-water workout based on the dog’s needs, physical condition, age, and water acclimatization and involves a half-hour controlled swim along with massage and movement exercises in the warm supporting waters. Our heated pool was designed and built specifically for this purpose is 4 ft. deep, with water temperature maintained between 88º and 91º F. Warm-water therapy is safe for all dogs, helping to ease muscular tension, increase circulation, and reduce physical and emotional stress in canines as reported by the ACWT. Paddling in a safe, supervised environment, aquatic canine aerobic exercise helps tone muscles with the minimal amount of impact stress in addition to benefiting the dog’s heart and lungs. In fact, according to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, a 5-minute swim is equivalent to walking five miles. Warm-water exercise is particularly beneficial for elderly and/or arthritic dogs for the same reason it is beneficial for humans: that is, as an ideal environment for low-impact exercise. From a more practical standpoint, the reduced-gravity environment that water provides enables the fitness trainer to easily lift and guide the dog through all phases of the workout. 🌊🐾 Why Warm Water? 🐾🌊
At SandDancer Canine Swim Therapy, we use warm water therapy (average temp of around 90 degrees)—and there's a good reason for it!
While cold water can tighten muscles and reduce inflammation after injury, warm water is the gold standard when it comes to healing, mobility, and comfort for your pup. 💧❤️
Here’s why warm water wins:
✅ Improves Circulation – Warmth increases blood flow to muscles and joints, helping your dog heal faster.
✅ Relieves Pain & Stiffness – Great for arthritis, hip dysplasia, and aging joints.
✅ Promotes Relaxation – A calm dog is a happy dog! Warm water reduces stress and anxiety.
✅ Enhances Range of Motion – Warmth helps loosen tight muscles and improve flexibility.
✅ Supports Muscle Building – Ideal for rehab, post-op recovery, and fitness.
💡 Think of it like a spa day with purpose—healing, strengthening, and soothing all at once.
Let your dog experience the difference warm water makes. Schedule a session today! 🐶💦

🌞🐾 SUMMER SWIM SAFETY REMINDER 🐾🌞

Now that summer is here, many of us are heading outside with our pups to beat the heat — but please remember:

💧 Ponds aren’t always the safest place for dogs to swim. Here’s why:

⚠️ Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) – Highly toxic and can be deadly, even in small amounts.
⚠️ Leptospirosis – A serious bacterial infection that can be spread through contaminated water.
⚠️ Sharp debris – Hidden hazards like broken glass, rocks, or fishing gear can cause injury.
⚠️ Parasites & bacteria – Giardia and other nasties can lead to illness.
⚠️ Thick mud & unstable footing – Dogs can get stuck or struggle to get out.
⚠️ Wildlife risks – Snakes, turtles, or birds can be dangerous.

🐶💙 There’s a safer way!

At SandDancer Canine Swim in Orchard Park, NY, your dog can enjoy a clean, fun, and professionally monitored swimming session.

✨ Our pool is filtered using diatomaceous earth (DE) — one of the most effective filtration systems available. It removes tiny particles, bacteria, and debris to keep our water crystal clear and ultra clean. No Clorine!! 😊

✅ Safe
✅ Sanitary
✅ Supervised
✅ Year-round fun!

📞 Call or message us to book your dog’s session today!

Let’s keep our pups safe, strong, and smiling this summer! 🐕💦☀️

Summer is almost here, but let's celebrate Winter's incredible journey! Winter is 13 years old and joined our swimming program in August 2019 to aid in her recovery from a torn cruciate ligament, and through dedication and perseverance, she's been able to avoid surgery and continue swimming weekly with Nicole.🎉🎊🎊🐾🐾🦴
