🐴Offshore Equine After-School Barn Program
This fall, Offshore Equine is opening the barn after school for local kids who want to spend more time outside, around horses, and experiencing real barn life.
September 14th – November 1st
Mondays & Tuesdays | 3:30–5:30 PM
$25 per child, per day
Kids can come off the bus/be dropped off and spend the afternoon learning through hands-on experience at the barn.
Activities may include:
• Grooming and caring for horses
• Feeding and barn chores
• Learning safe horse handling and basic horsemanship
• Helping with everyday barn activities
• Spending time outside, getting dirty, and being part of the crew
This is primarily a non-riding program focused on horsemanship and barn life. Depending on group size, time, horses, and the day's activities, there may occasionally be opportunities for some time in the saddle. Riding is not guaranteed or the primary focus of the program.
Research into horse-based activities with young people suggests that working with horses can offer opportunities for connection, responsibility, engagement, and developing new skills.
But mostly, I think kids need places where they can do real things.
Places where animals depend on them. Where getting a little dirty is ok. Where there's work to be done, skills to learn, horses to brush, and a community to belong to.
That's what I want this program to be.
$25 per child, per day.
