My Dalmatian’s mother just had a litter of 10! (at her home -she is not my Dalmatian) This will be her second litter after having Pups two years ago! 💕❤️🥳🎶🎉

There are seven boys and three girls. All is well after whelping 7/31/2022.

I Adore my beautiful Dalmatian Who is two years old with good hips, good eyesight, perfect hearing, and normal on all the other health testing. She is three single points away from being a champion in AKC Confirmation competitions.

I’ll try to add a picture of my baby Harper or the new babies.. I will refer serious inquiries to the breeder who owns a Harpers Mother. She is an AKC breeder of merit.

Beloved Dalmatians. I'm a fan of all Dalmatians but a super fan of the inclusion of the gene for normal uric acid metabolism, efforts to decrease deafness by never ever ever considering (breeding/showing) even a partially deaf Dalmatian, and lowering the instance of other health problems into the future population of Dalmatians!

It's Feb. 20, 2021...

The best place to find a Dalmatian Puppy is from a member of an AKC Dalmatian Club member in good standing. That's the best way to know that high breeding standards are being kept. My local clubs are the Greater Pittsburgh Dalmatian Club, The Dalmatian Club of Southern New England, and the Delaware Valley Dalmatian Club. (Do a Facebook search)

When people ask if I have available puppies, my answers are something like this... - If all he health testing comes out well, and she is conformationally correct when shown to judges qualified to judge Dalmatian breeding stock, and she has good OFA Hips & good etc.) then I will have puppies in about the Spring of 2023.

I usually add, " I have a friend who bred her female to (i.e. Grand Champion "Guinness") a few weeks ago." Contact the AKC Dalmatian Club of Greater Pittsburgh. -or any AKC Dalmatian Club to get a well-bred, healthy Dalmatian.

Please do not buy any Dalmatian (or any puppy) from anyplace where you can not see that the parents are pampered and beloved family pets/performance partners with great lives. Do not support puppy-mills where the poor parent dogs are kept in filthy cages, the pups are cleaned up, posed with a toy fire-truck and sold for big money in pet-stores or the internet.

Please at least talk to a reputable Dalmatian enthusiast before buying from someone who is considered sub-standard, cruel, and unethical by most of the membership of the Dalmatian Club of America. Please get a Dalmatian you can be proud of.

-oh, rescue from a shelter is always something to be proud of. "Rescue" of buying a puppy from a pet store only supports the cruel conditions the parents are in and encourages more cruelty.... as sad as that is... outlawing pet sales from puppy-mills would be good.

Sharing a good message written by E. Muller :
HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisingly states: “I can buy a cheaper pup elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No dog is “just a pet”.

Behind every pure bred puppy/dog is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed dogs without AKC, UKC or KC or other REAL (legitimate) papers*, that protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. (Continental Kennel Club papers are not legit) AKC papers starting with a "Q" (questionable) are not from a dog that should have been bred.

When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the puppy you just want the cheapest thing you can find!

When you select to buy a puppy from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every pup ; both dogs owned and every pup they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their dogs . The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in puppies that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any puppy/dog who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do tests, echos, x-rays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register litters, research pedigrees, de-worm, as well as microchip their puppies and get them evaluated by specialists.

Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes...A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.

Because a dog is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!

Worth the share with so much truth in this article. Responsible breeding and owning multiple dogs is a lifestyle and commitment that many are not able to comprehend. 7 days a week and 365 days a year with our lives revolving around the dogs.
