🐾 Meet Jocelyn! 🐾

If you've stopped by Family Animal Care in the past couple of weeks, you may have noticed a new face around the clinic!

We're excited to introduce Jocelyn, who has joined our team for the summer. Jocelyn is currently attending veterinary technician school and is spending the summer with us to gain valuable hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic setting.

You'll see her assisting our team, learning new skills, and helping us provide the best possible care for our patients. Here she is with Ace, one of our wonderful patients! 🐶💙

We're excited to be a part of Jocelyn's journey as she works toward a career in veterinary medicine.

School’s almost out for summer, and that means more time outside for both kids and pets! ☀️🐾

As summer activities pick up, it’s a great time to remember a few important pet safety tips:

🌡️ Never leave pets in parked vehicles — even for a few minutes
💧 Make sure fresh water and shade are always available outside
🔥 Be careful around grills, campfires, and fireworks
🐶 Watch for hot pavement on paws during walks
🦟 Keep pets up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
🏊 Supervise pets around pools, lakes, and rivers
🪪 Double check collars, tags, and microchip information before vacations and summer trips

We survived the parade… even with kids, dogs, and snakes involved. 😄🌷🐍🐾

Tulips, teamwork, and a whole lot of community spirit made for a pretty great night at the Tulip Festival parade! The Family Animal Care team had an awesome time seeing so many smiling and familiar faces along the route.

Thanks to everyone who waved, cheered, and came out to celebrate with us — we loved being part of such a fun community tradition!

🐾 UPDATE: REUNITED WITH OWNER🥰🐾

This sweet Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon puppy was found and we are looking for his owner! He appears to be about 5–6 months old and is an intact male. No microchip, collar, or tags. Found at the Antique Tractor Show in Orange City, IA.

He is safe and being cared for while we try to reunite him with his family. If you have information on who this sweet boy belongs to, please contact us at 712-707-2273.

Yesterday we celebrated Ashley Norman, and today it’s Dr. Ashley’s turn! We’re lucky to have not one, but TWO Ashleys who help make our clinic such a great place for pets, clients, and coworkers alike.

Whether it’s caring for patients, helping clients, keeping us laughing, or just being the awesome people they are — we appreciate everything they do every single day.
