We went to the Heartland Show this past weekend, despite a very busy (and muddy) week leading up to the show, we made it! Although we didn't get any ribbons, we did have some class wins, and 2nds, some 4th or 5ths maybe, in a VERY competitive show. The standout for our herd was definitely my daughter's doe, Kidco WWW Starlight Starbright. She just had a single doe kid this year, plus it's been raining non-stop, but this doe's ability to just continue milking through it all amazes me! She was uddered up for the youth show Friday, I milked her Friday after the show, and she showed up looking fabulous again for day two! Even though she didn't snag any grands this time, this doe is my kind of girl! Her daughter Kidco RO Midnight Special won a big class of senior yearlings in the youth show too! Way to go Starlight and Laylie!

And by the way, my earlier post had zero to do with anyone's behavior at this show, it was just on my mind!

Folks, you need to congratulate your fellow exhibitors on their show wins IN PERSON if you can. The standard breeders seem to be a lot better at this than Nigerian breeders are. I can remember very clearly my first grands and the breeders that walked up and congratulated me, and I remember even more clearly the breeder who walked up to me and said, "And just WHO bred this goat?!" I responded with, "Dill's" and that breeder rolled her eyes and said, "Figures!" then walked off. CONGRATULATE YOUR FELLOW EXHIBITORS! It's just good sportsmanship, and not doing so says a lot about your character.

This constant rain has really tanked milk production, I'm hoping we can have a few days of sunshine and the girls will look decent at our next show, but if not, at least we will still get to see our goat friends!

*if I verbalize this kind of optimism maybe it will sink in to my cranky soul and do me some good* 😝

Kidco had a good weekend! In the youth show, my daughter Laylie won grand with her Nigerian doe, Kidco WWW Starlight Starbright, and then jr grand with her Oberhasli Heaven's Hollow Lil Kit Kat. Kit Kat also went on to win BIS!

We headed out to the Heart of OK show yesterday, SO many lovely Nigerians were in attendance, and I am thrilled with our placings. We took 4 does, 4yo Kidco JR Zenyatta, 4yo Kidco WWW Starlight Starbright, 3yo Kidco JR Ring-Around-Rosie, and 2yo Kidco JW Naughty Pine. Zen and Rosie each won their class in opposite rings, so I was able to stand in the grand line-up in each ring, which is definitely something to be proud of with our competitive breed! All our other placings were great, and I am so proud of our beautiful girls!

This goat drives me nuts! She can't find the milkstand, likes to run from me and play games, had mastitis and only milks on one side... always gives me bucks. I keep thinking I will list her, but then I don't. If someone wants to make up my mind for me that would be great. Thanks!

Landrun AA Jyn VVEV 88
currently milking around 8 lbs with half an udder, and has amazing genetics and lovely GA.

I'm just over here milking my goats, and minding my own business. I don't get on facebook all that much, but rest assured, I'm still here. I'm sure I don't market my herd as much as I "should" in order to keep up with the crowd, but oh well. I sold most of my kids cheap and quick this year, but I did hold back two very nice doe kids. I'll probably take nice pictures of them and try to market them one of these days. When I feel like it. 🤣 I have one out of GCH Jacksons Royal CS Epona 2*M, and one out of KidCo LM Terebinth, a 2 yo who I like a lot, and who earned her jr leg last year. I could deliver to upcoming shows.

Today, we laid the great SGCH Dill's Quite Contrary 4*M VEEE 91 to rest. She was 13 years old, and has an entire herd of descendants here to carry on her legacy. I'm not sad, it was time for her to go, but I will miss her sweet face.

NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA

Please visit our website for more info www.kidconigerians.weebly.com

Our goal is to breed Nigerian Dwarf Goats that MILK and SHOW, and I believe I've put together a wonderful little herd! NEW for 2019 I signed up for ADGA PLUS! So I will be participating in both DHI and LA for 2019, and I'm very excited for the future of my herd. We test our Nigerians for CAE and Johne's yearly, in addition we bottle-feed ALL kids on CAE PREVENTION, none of our Nigerians have ever had a CL abscess, and Oklahoma is a Brucellosis-free state.
