AVAILABLE for adoption.

We are currently scheduling meet and greets for Benny as he will be neutered soon and will be able to go to his forever home after May 20th.

He is incredibly intelligent and learns quickly.

A home with children or other dogs would be ideal.

He knows sit. Lay. Shake with both paws.
And walks extremely well on leash.

He is eager to please and wants to be near his people. He is a lap dog and is very affectionate.

He is potty trained and is fine being left alone for short periods without being destructive.

He LOVES other dogs.
He is good with cats

He adores children.
He would do great with an active family as he likes to explore outside.

He is treat motivated.
He rides well in the car.

He likes to lay on the back of the couch to watch out the window.

He loves tennis balls and can catch it in the air like a champ. He is very playful.

We wanted to start off your week with some Happy news. STORM has been ADOPTED!!

He now has the most amazing family, a huge yard to run and play in. The BONUS he found his best forever friend 🥰

We are incredibly happy for them all.

TAYLOR 🥰

Taylor is a senior female cat and is available for adoption.

*She does not like other cats and would need a home where she is the one and only queen bee. 🐝
*She is overweight but she does not have any health concerns with her weight,
*she would just need to be put on diet foods.
*She is very sweet and loving to her people.

Taylor is part of our senior to senior program so her adoption fee is waived for a senior adopter.

On our hardest days it’s updates like this that keep us going and today we really needed this one.

KIZA 💕 Her new family sent us some photos and say she is really settling in, is the best girl and is learning new things everyday.

We are SO happy for Kiza and her new family!

OLIVIA “Livie” is the most loveable 3 year old female Dutch Shepherd mix. Available for adoption.

What we know so far:

*She is a very sweet, gentle petite girl.
*She needs to be an only pet.
*She walks well on leash but will pull for the first few minutes.
*She is very affectionate and will melt into your lap.
* She is very playful and likes to play tag.

We know that her forever family is out there to give her the loving home she deserves. 💕

We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all of our SUPPORTERS!

Once again dozens of OCAP supporters overwhelmed us with their generosity.

We held our annual dinner/auction fundraiser on May 3rd and raised much-needed revenue to keep our shelter open so we can continue helping animals.

Millage covers about half the shelter’s annual expenses, but OCAP needs to raise the rest. We have a full house again, and that means more expenses.

Thank you, Mike Urbis for entertaining us while convincing people that it’s fun to part with your money for a good cause, thank you Bruce’s Tap House for the delicious meal, and thank you donors, volunteers, bidders, and friends for your generous hearts.

We’re giving each of our resident cats and dogs an extra snuggle and telling them they have many friends in Ontonagon County who love them as much as we do.
